How do you know that you have ED?
I'm stick thin but I eat a lot (almost always hungry). Everyone in my family and a family doctor just think it's because of genetics or very fast metabolism. I only weight [edited by Anomalia to remove weight specifics / triggers] pounds but I've been trying to gain weight for years. Sometime eating a lot works, I gain a few pounds a month but then I forget or skip a meal or two and I'm back to square one.
@rainbowturtle I tend to have this problem as a person who also has a very high metabolism! If your remembering to eat, and your eating well, your probably okay. If you have any questions though, you should definitely contact your doctor
@rainbowturtle Hello! If it is something you are really concerned about, I would say go to a different doctor (maybe not the same family doctor that says it's just your high metabolism). But if you are eating and you say you are always hungry, then you might be okay. I would say try to find a way to make sure you are not missing any meals, maybe by making sure you eat meals at the same time each day; you could also set reminders on your phone or something about when to eat if you are missing a lot of meals.
@rainbowturtle - Hi lovely, I just wanted to let you know that I edited out the weight specifics in your post just to make sure they don't accidentally trigger anyone else in the eating disorder forums. As the others said below, it seems to me like the best move is to talk to a doctor about it and see what you can learn. But if you need to chat with someone at all or need some extra support, feel free to reach out! :)
