@imsorryitry Hey Hope
it can be difficult to get back into a regular appetite after struggling with an ED, so try to give yourself some time :) You can always slowly work towards a goal if you want to move your appetite/eating habits towards more regular, steady, and healthy place.
It makes sense that eating would make you nauseous, if before you were purging, because your body has made a sort of "association", where food = sick (since that what was happening before). And now it's kind of stuck around, even after you have overcome purging. So, you might have to try to make a new association, where you associate food with something more positive, so that with time your body will think food = positive. If that makes sense
One method could be eating a meal while you do something you really enjoy. It's okay if you have to start slow, it's all a process that takes time, but it can be done!
And, it makes sense that some times eating is totally fine for you (especially for 'comfort' or 'happy' foods/snacks like chocolate), but when you know you're going to be 'measured', the leftover "purging" mentality is still struggling to survive, and so it would bring back those feelings of not wanting the food in you. Or, if you usually feel scared/nervous to go to the doctor, it could also bring back those old negative 'coping' habits. It all really makes sense, Hope. You're just in recovery, you're almost through but there's still some small, old habits that have to be worked through
You know, I think you're doing a wonderful job, you're being so strong with all of this, and you're really making some good progress! Think of how far you've come from back then, you're doing awesome
