Becoming borderline anorexic
I'm 16, 6'0, 180 lbs. The past few weeks I've extremely self conscious about my weight because my parents always call me fat and I've even caught them talking about my weight behind my back. The comments have really started getting to me and I've noticed that I'm starting to restrict food and even on some days all I've eaten is a sandwich. I know 6'0, 180 lbs isn't necessarily overweight or unhealthy but every time I think about that number or look in the mirror, the only thing I can think is "I'm fat." On the days when I do eat a normal amount, I regret it and feel super guilty and get scared I'm gonna gain weight. I feel like I'm almost starting to become anorexic with how little I try to eat and how I view myself.
@ELIJAHHHH I can completely understand this in a reverse way, and don’t let them bother you, hun. I know it’ll be really hard and they’re your parents— they’re not good ones for saying such stuff about their kid, and they should probably rethink their choices, but at the end of the day, you’re healthy and perfect for your age, height and weight. The thing that matters is are you happy how you are. You don’t have to care about how others perceive you, that’s their opinion. As long as you’re happy and you can live your best life. I’ve been one to also skip meals or not eat as much because of lack of appetite among other things, and it will be hard. Start small, little snacks between meals, or even just snacks on their own. Grow slowly from there. It will take time, love. But thats okay, and im here to support you if you ever want someone to talk to. Find things you like, and if textures are hard, try and find ways to avoid those textures and still eat. Once you’re eating at least 2 meals a day, try working yourself to meats and such, to get carbs and things. You’re not fat, if anything, your parents are just jealous that you look better than they did at your age. I believe in you honey, you’ve got this ^^ <3
