Feeling lost — struggling with schizophrenia and an eating disorder while abroad
Hi everyone,
I’m not sure if this is the right place to post, but I really need to talk to someone. I’ve been living with schizophrenia for a while, and I think I also have an eating disorder. I don’t like my body or the way I look. Even though I know I’m not overweight, I can’t stop feeling like I need to lose weight.
Lately, I’ve been walking between 28,000 and 40,000 steps a day to “burn off” what I eat, and sometimes I make myself vomit. I had stopped doing that for three months, and I was proud of myself. But since I left home to volunteer in Vietnam, it’s started again.
I feel really lost and ashamed, and I don’t know what to do or how to stop this cycle. I just feel so tired of fighting with myself all the time.

🥺
I'm so sorry that you feel lost and ashamed.
And you cannot see how beautiful you are.
Please be gentle with yourself
Your feelings are intensified and overwhelming right now.
Thank you so much for your honesty, it's not easy to talk about these things.
One day at a time, but please, you might have to consider opening up to a professional to get the help you need and deserve to realise your true worth 💜💕

@leilainvirtnamIt sounds like you have been going through a lot and trying to cope with many difficult feelings at once. Living with schizophrenia while also struggling with body image and eating can feel overwhelming. It makes sense that these habits started again after such a big change like volunteering abroad. You deserve support and kindness as you work through this, and it is okay to feel tired of fighting. Thank you for sharing this and reaching out for help.
@leilainvirtnam hey if you ever need to chat about anything please let me know. I am always around.
