How do I recover?
Hi!! So in 6th and 7th grade I had a terrible eating disorder. I would go days without eating to the point where I was 5'5. Now im 5'7 and I'm still a little under weight. I've eaten normally but nothing seems to work. its gotten to the point where I'm not insecure about being fat, I'm so insecure about being underweight because people make comments about it. In 3rd-5th grade I got heavily bullied for being chubby and now when people makes comments about my body it makes me feel so bad abt my self. Is there any way I can gain weight or atleast look average?.
@Strangesisterkk Hello there! I'm really sorry to hear that you've been through such challenges with your body image. It's important to focus on your health and well-being. Instead of giving advice, I'd suggest consulting with a nutritionist and a psychologist who can provide guidance and support in managing any aspects of your journey. Remember, your weight does not determine your worth. You are valuable just as you are. If you ever want to discuss this further or need suggestions, please don't hesitate to reach out. Take care and be kind to yourself! 💖
Thank you!! I had a therapist around the time my eating disorder started but my family couldn't afford it anymore. Last time I went to my pediatrician i was 100 pounds and she told me I needed to eat more and exercise. I have gained almost 20 pounds since then!! I do basketball and cross country now so i would say im beginning to have some muscle definition. When I wrote this a girl just said something mean about my weight. Thank you for all your support!! I think I'm starting to feel a little better about myself.

You've received some good feedback already, and I'd also mention that sometimes talking with a family physician can be beneficial.
Your body is yours - we are all made up individually with our different genes and such, and some of us heavier and some of us thinner. Some curvier and some less. Some things aren't changeable and others are with help. I share this to let you know that each of us are unique, and it's not someone else's comments to base how we feel about ourselves, just in case your thoughts are based on others comments.
Please continue to share. Lots of us aren't happy with our bodies and struggle to gain or lose, and struggle to find recovery. You're welcome here.
