I need your help

Hello, I just want a solution, I'm tired, I want to share my problem with you.I've tried so many diets in 5 years to lose weight, but I have a strong appetite. No matter how much I try to moderate my food intake, I ruin my diet, and this causes me to gain weight again. My obesity has affected my mental health, and I've started to feel inadequate and Self-hatred, I don't know what to do. I can't accept myself, and every time I try to start another diet, I end up eating and then collapsing because I can't control myself.

I am a believer in Christ, so outside of that I have nothing much to say, I don´t know. That is just my experience. But I think, it always starts within. There are people who love themselves and may be obese and they know their value and worth and it is not based on their looks nor on who they are in the eyes of people, and they can actually lose weight and stop being obese and the food problem gets in control as a result. Love yourself, find who you are, and why u r worthy.

It is written in Matthew 6:

But if your eye is evil, your whole body will be full of darkness.

What you see, how you see, how u think, your perspective... that is what changes everything.

May God bless u

hey, I'm someone who has myslef suffered from obsessive eating. Here's the truth about any diet, you motivation, for doing something, deternmines how long you will be able to sustain something. Unfortunately, when that motivation is self hatred, its very easy for it to turn inwards and hamper your progress. We need to seek ways that can positively help you uphold routines. I'm a listener at 7 cups and would love to chat more with you incase you are seeking help with your eating habits

I feel your frustrations, weight loss is indeed tough to achieve and maintain. I'm not an expert but certain things helped in my journey.

The first thing was to stop calling it a diet, those seem faddy and temporary and I wanted permanence. I called it lifestyle changes.

The second thing was instead of setting unrealistic goals and turning on myself. I made it sensible and encouraged myself, congratulated myself on trying to be healthier and look after my body.

Thirdly I looked at what I didn't need or what I could try a more nutritious version of instead. For me sugary coffee and dunking biscuits was something I didn't need so I switched to fizzy, then flavoured water, then just plain.

Now I eat half healthily and half not because I learned I don't have to go without sugar or carbs to lose weight.

If you find an exercise you genuinely enjoy that helps a lot too :)

have you ever restricted in the past?

this may be your body trying to make the most of meal times  because it feels unsafe other times

Diets are usually unsustainable and intuitive eating works best , honouring your cravings and listening to your body instead of punishment is the best way for your body to feel safe again , maybe talking to a family member or friend that goes through something similar might help
