Hi I'm 16 rn and I have had problems with my habits and since i was really little (constantly underwight).

Up until recently I had been feeling really comfortable with my body at a healthy weight but still had to deal with comments from my parents about being too fat. My doctor assures me that I was not because I still only weighed <edit> and i am <edit> tall.

Anyway, I just got diagnosed with ADHD and as part of my treatment i take stimulant medication that suppresses my appetite. I am really starting to get nervous because i have lost the better part of <edit> which i thought okay I can start gaining that back at Easter with chocolate and stuff (including more healthy options as well) bit I just have been feeling horrible about it. My parents have also been making comments that I should eat less as well. I haven't been Excercising either and lost this without trying. If anyone wants to chat about this or has any suggestions please let me know

@justbeingm3 Hey there, hope you're doing fine. This sounds serious have you talked to a doctor about it or brought this up to your parents? It is better to check rather than regret it later. Maybe it is normal for you to have a quick metabolism since you're losing weight quickly. It isn't good to over eat but maybe try eating a tiny bit more than you do right now if you want to. Also do not let others influence your image of your body, if your comfortable with it don't change it for someone else no matter who, unless you want to of course, just keep in mind if it is making you uncomfortable then don't pay too much attention to it. I hope this might help and that you will have a great health and future.

@justbeingm3

Thanks for sharing.  It sounds like you're in a tough situation with the medication which is causing you to lose weight and the struggle of wanting to be at a healthy weight yet your parents feeling like you are still needing to lose weight.

Are you able to talk to your school counselor about how you might be able to connect with a nutritionist, about how to keep your weight stable with your medication, or even talk to your physician about that?

Are there other things you have considered as options?  At the very least, please keep posting!
