Hello everyone. I brand new here.... I haven't officially been diagnosed with an ED ( haven't gone to talk to anyone about it yet...) But I certainly fit criteria for binge eating disorder.

I'm so tired of this horrible relationship with food.... It's getting worse as I get older (I'm 38)

I hide when I eat, I hide what I eat.. eat beyond the point of feeling sick... Blah blah blah

Anyway.. I'm here to gain insight into my behaviour and work on ending the binges, and to repair my relationship with food and my body .

Hello. Im Lekse. Have been on a long journey of recovery from anorexia, social anxiety and major depressive disorder ever since Ive been 14. I am 26 now, and Ive dedicated myself to advocating for people with eating disorders.

I am also a pre-med student, and plan to specialize in treatment of eating disorders and to establish a recovery center that is not only affordable, but also meet the needs of every individual in a way that is comfortable and not coercive.

I am not a proponent of most common ED treatment techniques. i.e. CBT and SSRIs, because Ive tried them all and ended up driving myself into a deeper isolation and self-loathing.

What helped me to find my way was unexpectedly simple: mindfulness, knitting/crochet, and video games.

Of course, I am still no where near being fully recovered, and I almost had a panic attack sharing all this with you, wonderful people... but maybe one of the greater steps toward recovery is to find your voice and to say: I have an Eating Disorder. It is a disease with a high mortality rate. I need help.

@courageousNight27 hi!! I too have an eating disorder but I suppose its the opposite? (Nine eating disorder). Its a viscous cycle of restricting food because you feel fat and gross only to binge due to restricting, then feeling fat and gross again! Its weird to type actually because it sounds so stupid to me- surely I should just be able to stop but no...

anyways I like your post a lot, I too didnt find therapy all that great it made me feel extra guilty.

Im currently studying psychology and I too would love to open up something to help people with eating disorders in an affordable way!!

Anyways not sure if you even read this aha but nice to meet you x
