Considering treatment

Hey all, 18FTM here. I'm considering seeking professional treatment after a few years of struggling with an ED.
For context, my ED works in a cycle: be really sick for a month or two, go into recovery for a few months/year(s), start slipping, relapse and be really sick again. I'm tired of the cycle and I want to get treatment, I want to finally get out and get professional help. But I've never felt like I've been sick enough. After all, I was never sick for that long constantly, so what right do I have to seek such radical and drastic treatment, right? Stuff like that. I still don't feel like I was sick enough to need this kind of treatment. I don't want to be the guy in the program who's doing fine whilst everyone needs the help right then and there. I don't want to be selfish or overdramatic. But I can't keep fearing the cycle all my life. I don't know what to do, I just want to get better and stay better.
I guess my question is this: how do I know when to seek treatment? And if I was to, how would I even do that?

I absolutely think you should seek treatment! <3 I’m proud of you for wanting to change. That’s HUGE! <3

I would say talk to your doctor, who may refer you to a nutritionist, who will get you the care you need. They will refer you to the right department, and that will start your healing process. Although… You already have! The desire to change is the beginning of change <3

We’re here for you and we love you! Keep us updated <3

I think as soon as you can recognize there's a problem, you should be able to seek treatment for it. Especially if this has been reoccurring for a few years. I wish you the best in your journeys, I've been hesitating myself whether to get counseling or something for my eating behaviors.
