When we go through something like an eating disorder we lose thing in our life, that could be goals, friends or even previous engagements! When we are struggling with an eating disorder we tend to get so caught up with the thoughts, feelings and urges of our eating disorder that we start to avoid or stop doing thing completely. When we start to recovery that when we (or at least I did) start looking at the things we have lost to the eating disorder and it can be overwhelming but you can gain them back with time. You may be asking how? well here is a few things we can do!

1) If its related to relationships, we can start by practicing interpersonal effectiveness skills click here to learn more

2) Start slowly getting back into activities like college or work, Click here for the forum post I did about college readiness with recovery

3) Try to go back to things that are part of your life worth living, or goals first. If you don't know how to build a life worth living that can be a very good first step to do first. Knowing what makes life and recovery worth it can help gain some of the things you lost by giving us goals to accomplish and feel good about accomplishing. @TheAsh Thanks for the helpful post.

I'm doing voluntary work at the moment, in order to help me get back into 'proper' work sometime soon.
