Goals are important to recovery! But sometimes we make goals that are unachieveable and that can make it hard for us to recover.

What does SMART stands for:

Specific (simple, sensible, significant).

Measurable (meaningful, motivating).

Achievable (agreed, attainable).

Relevant (reasonable, realistic and resourced, results-based).

Time bound (time-based, time limited, timely, time-sensitive).

Questions to ask yourself when making goals:

(S) How specific is your goal? Is it simple? does it make sense and it is important for you situation?

(M) How do you know that you accomplised this goal?

(A) Is it acheiveable? (Not that it is going to be easy though!) Is it possible for you to do this?

(R) Is this relatable to you situation? How are you going to know that you acheived this goal?

(T) Are you doing this in the right time fame you set for yourself? When we look at eating disorders, Is this a healthy timefame? (Wanting to (edited by Hope for sharing specific weight counts) of weight isn't going to happen in a week, it many take you awhile)

I like the idea of smart goals. It is a good way to set achievable goals. Thank you for making a post on it.
