Small Victories

Happy Recovery Month! As part of our celebrations, let's share some small victories here and in the feed!

-----

In eating disorder recovery, sometimes it's the little, day-to-day victories that mean the most, so I wanted to create a thread for us to share those.

I'll start. Yesterday at a football watch party, I let go of my hang-up about cream-cheese based dips (I know, weirdly specific, but there it is) and ate some delicious cheesecake dip that a friend made that normally I wouldn't have let myself have. Yum!

@Anomalia

I'll share too!

I've recovered, but I still do have those ED thoughts. My small daily victory is pushing those thoughts aside and nourishing my body with wholesome and quality food that it deserves!

I did an art project today that was focused on ED recovery that felt authentic and genuine. That's not something I would have been in a place to be able to do even just a few months ago. It feels like a small thing, but also a sign that my mind is starting to accept that it's possible for me to recover and that it's actually what I want for myself (and not just because that's what I'm meant to think). Art can also be so healing for those of us on this kind of journey.
