What Are Your Recovery Tools?
When you have just found out about your eating disorder, or just finally admitted to yourself that you have one, one challenge is how do you cope with it. Another is where do you find the support you need to cope with it. I think that we can help each other by sharing what has helped sometimes or helps a lot at times or works really well most of the time.
Please share what your recovery tools are that help you to work on your recovery from eating disorders.
The more we can share, the bigger out list can be.

@KristenHR My best "tool" is my servicedog, who is always there to support me, and make me realize that when I feed him, I should also feed myself!
@TheMadHatterWasHere
That is so great. Not only is your service dog supportive and there to help you in many other ways I'm sure, what a great way to remember to feed yourself.
Thanks for sharing this. I hope others will find this to be a helpful tool for others who have not only support animals, but pets that need fed and can be reminded to eat at the same time. 👍
@KristenHR Not only is he great at reminding me to eat, he is also my sole supporter when we are out of the house, and has to eat at big gatherings. I still cannot eat with strangers around me, but with my family around me and the servicedog beside me, I can shield myself enough to being able to eat :)

That's great. I used to struggle with eating in public places as well. I'm so glad that you have found ways to do that.
@KristenHR I struggle with it still, but between my family and my service dog I am in the best hands (and paws haha xD). I still cannot eat with friends or anything like that, or even at the group home I'm currently living at, but at least I can eat with family, right? I try to stay positive.
