What progress have you made?

It's difficult to see progress on a daily basis because we are in the trenches.  So I have to ask,

Looking back over the last year, what progress have you made with recovery in your eating disorder or disordered eating recovery since this time last year?  Identify things as big or small as your steps are!

@loverowananne

Congratulations on taking that step.  That can be a very difficult and frightening step to take, but the most important one to start the recovery journey.  I'm so glad you posted and are here.

I'm sorry to hear how things are going in the wrong direction for you right now.  I know this is very difficult.

What has helped in the past to help your move in the direction of recovery that has been helpful?

Getting back up and back on track is incredibly hard.  Being worn out from slipping off track and then trying not to lose more ground is exhausting.  In my experience, getting back on track is less exhausting than staying in a place I hate, even though it feels perhaps more comfortable and familiar in that place.

The struggle is real to be in a healthy place, and it's a tiring journey.  But it's also a rewarding journey when you make positive steps that you can see.  It's relieving when you don't have to fight so much when you are feeling better or having a better day.  Maybe at this moment it feels like it's not possible, but let me help you hold on to the knowledge that it is possible to get back on track and to be healthy.

Have you ever read the book, Life Without Ed, by Jenni Schaefer?  Many have found it very inspiring.
