Taking care of my Family of 3
Hi everyone 🌻 I'm in my early 20s and I've found myself financially and emotionally responsible for my aging parents and younger sister. My dad found himself unable to work due to his declining health, and that left me and my fiance in a difficult situation, we made certain decisions for their best interest (moving them to a city closer to us etc.) under the pretence that they would manage on my dad's pension payout, unfortunately it didn't last even a fraction of as long as was planned and it's left my family in the situation where my dad has had to find work (a very low paying job) and I have to cover the expenses that he can't cover. The bottom line is I'm struggling with guilt, the logical part of me says I did more than was necessary and still do today, so there's no reason I should feel guilty but I can't help but feel like my decisions have ruined my parents lives. Does anyone have any advice on this? Thanks to anyone who reads this or replies! ❤

It sounds like you are in a very difficult situation caring for the needs of your family and trying to build a life with your partner. I can't imagine the pressure you are under right now. Your logical thoughts are correct. You are doing all that you can to help your family above and beyond the call of duty, most likely. It sounds like you are kicking yourself unfairly for having them make the move closer to you. You haven't ruined things for your family and I think your logical mind feels that in spite of what your emotions feel.
