@peachTurtle358

first figure out what works for you. If you need a break, tell him that and maybe you can be friends at a later time

@peachTurtle358 personally id just be honest with him (but obviously kind and respectful). you could say something along the lines of "hey i think you're an amazing person but right now i need a break. maybe we could try again and be friends somewhere down the line". obviously, if this doesn't speak to you then don't use it but my point is that itd be better to be a bit blunt with him than to lead him on.

Hello there @peachTurtle358, thanks for reaching out for help!

I deeply sympathise with your situation. It must be hard and probably awkward to be friends with someone whom you've shared a romantic connection with in the past Whatever you're feeling is totally normal and you're not alone. A lot of people feel the same way so there's nothing wrong with you.

I understand that you have identified that you need to take a break and not be associated with him for a while. Well, if you strongly believe that you need a break, then just go for it. You should be proud of yourself for knowing what you want.

In the meantime, you may want to ask yourself these questions:
1. Is being friends with an ex something you're comfortable with?
2. Is being friends with an ex something you've done before?
3. If your answer was 'Yes' to Q1 and / or Q2, how does it make you feel?
4. What are your thought on taking the break you said you need?
5. Now that you've broken up, what in your plan for your future? Eg: Focusing on yourself, getting back into the dating scene, etc.?

I believe once you've answered these questions with total honesty to yourself, you'll be able to find out what you should do on your own.

If you would like to have a deeper conversation with me about this, feel free to reach out and I'd be happy to chat with you!

Take care and good luck! ❤️
