Befriending myself
I am new to this space having joined a little over a week ago and do to several transitions in life I'm grappling with who I am now at this stage of my life and being my own friend. That may sound odd but since I retired due to medical reasons and have less socializing ability I feel like I I have a boring life and wonder what I bring to new friendships as I grapple with wondering if I really like my own self. Can anyone relate?
@Webspinner hi sweetie I'm Lola 💖 welcome to our cups family💖 I hear you and I understand to some level. I'm only 25 but I'm also retired. It can get quite lonely and yes compared to most life can seem boring🙁 but thank God we have this site, a place where we can be ourselves, support and socialise with others💖 I think finding joy in the little things and hobbies is what helps me to find enjoyment in daily life the most🙂💖 what are things you like to do??
@Tinywhisper11
As you wrote finding joy in little things and hobbies is helpful to provide enjoyment. Well I love to walk in nature when my body permits, travel, read, spend time with friends, and do crafts although I haven't done too much of that lately. What a you?
@Webspinner those are all amazing things to do💖 what kind of crafts do you like?? Do you get to meet up with friends often? So you have issues waking😕 I can't walk either, thank God for wheelchairs💖😁 I like to draw pictures, in the warmer weather I love sitting outside watching the sunrise and listening to the birds wake up. I also have 3 little piggies to keep me busy😁 (guinea pigs) 💖 I hope you have a great day today 💖
