Friend broke my trust

I have these 2 friends one is a guy lets call him A and a girl lets call her D. A and D dont know each other. Recently A saw D's pic and complimented her and asked her to set him up with her. I jokingly told her, I didnt expect a kind of positive response ? From her. So when she responded positively. I told her that actually "I like A". I thought she would clrealy backoff. Considering she is my bestie. I didn't expect her to still show interest. At first I was trying to be ok. Later I just confronted her on how could she even think of giving it a chance. It really felt like she didn't respect my feelings. Was I correct to respond the way I did. Its feels very complicated
