Friends in a new environment

I moved to a different country about a year ago at the age of 18 and ive been struggling to find friendships that last. I have a lovely boyfriend and im starting part-time studies at a post-secondary school this weekend. Ive had two different friend groups since I got here, i got kicked out of the group chat from one of them because i was inactive but the other one has stayed. The thing is, i rarely hang out with anyone from the group one-on-one and when i do im always the one to text first. I guess i just wanted to share that its been rough for me to find any meaningful connections since ive moved and it all feels a bit shallow. Back home i had two best friends that i could talk to about anything and everything and it was so easy to keep a conversation but for some reason its so much harder for me here.
