I don’t know how to make friends anymore

I can really relate and I’m sorry that you’re going through this.

Boldness begets boldness.

My turning point Started when I decided that I was going go to 3 different places Per day that people are Walking around that I would pass by them.

Going to a mall only counts as one place.

Going into a grocery store And just walking a few aisles Counts as one.

Going into a coffee shop.

An elevator Of a building that has a lot of businesses is probably the best one.

But three different places per day. Take a shower and dress up reasonably well, And spend 30 days where your goal is just to Go in, Walk around a little, not in a big hurry, And go home.

The second 30 days, Try to make a momentary eye contact with just a brief little smile with one person at each place.

There is really no better place than a business elevator if you can possibly find one. People are usually in a good mood and usually Quite open If you give a little smile, they usually give a little smile back. And you can say the most Basic “Oh man, it’s cold outside today” Once you work up to that and then Very often, somebody will make eye contact with you And continue the conversation. And if you decide you don’t want to Talk to them anymore, Well, they will be leaving the elevator in a minute or two.

Once you see that people will smile back at you If you just give a nice momentary friendly smile, Then Your boldness will slowly start to build, And build! I’ll bet you if you try this For 90 days That somebody Will ask you, Or you will have the boldness to ask them, if you would like to Meet for coffee or go on a walk And get to know each other better.

It really works, but you really gotta build up to it slowly so that it’s not scary. But it is really exhilarating after you’ve been stuck inside by yourself for a long time. Every day it got a little bit easier for me, even though it was really hard at first.
