I feel stuck
I spent my entire adult life being friends with people I’ve met through work or something else. I’ve always been available, but was never much for social chit chat and checking in. I’ve had really good experiences and times with people, but they all felt hollow.
Now I have spent a lot of time thinking about it and I realize that I just didn’t care unless other people needed help. But I feel completely alone when everyone is asleep and busy.
And if I want to reach out to people I don’t feel like I’m doing it genuinely. Idk if I even care or why should I even care what they have to say to my “how your day has been?”
And getting into social situations has the same meaningless feeling and I just don’t know what to do. I feel like the only way is to force myself into social spaces and just suffer until something happens…

What I like is keeping my circle small
Honest.
Real.
And genuine.
Connections that are not shallow, you can be yourself and don't have to suffer small talk 💚

Thank you Amanda
I try, but when everyone you know has some connection to work or what I’m doing, I’ve not been able to make them truly close…
Maybe I’m just overthinking, but I feel completely alone, even though I have plenty of acquaintances.
The only people in my life I can be somewhat fully honest are my parents, but even then…

I get what you mean, it can be hard to shift from acquaintance to good friend 💚
