okay so i'm looking for friendship advice. i have this friend, lets call her Vic. last month there was a school dance at my school. and she knew i liked this guy. i talked about him almost everyday, she knew i was basically obsessing over him. and a few days before the dance, she asked the guy i liked to the dance. i figured this out from her sister. one day, i confronted Vic about asking him, she denied it tho. but i knew her sister wouldn't lie about something like that. a few days after the confrontation, Vic kinda started avoiding me. so then i started hanging out with my other friends, not including her (bc she didn't wanna be included). she then started hanging out with a whole different friend group. but a couple weeks after, she tried to talk to me. i kinda tried to avoid her tho bc i haven't fully gained her trust yet yk. so i was wondering if i should become her friend again?

I get that this is really complicated and painful for you. Honestly, I think you have every right to feel hurt. You told Vic about your feelings for that guy, and if she asked him to the dance anyway, that feels like a betrayal of trust. Then, when you confronted her and she denied it—even though you heard it from someone close to her—that just made it worse.
On the other hand, it says something that she tried to talk to you later. Maybe she regrets what she did. The real question is: are you ready to give her a second chance? Trust can be rebuilt, but it takes time and honesty from both sides.
It might help to have a calm conversation with her—tell her how you see the situation and what hurt you. See how she reacts.
You don’t have to go back to being best friends right away. But sometimes it helps to get some clarity and closure, even if you don’t end up being close again.
