Wondering if anyone has been able to pull through something like this!

I recently found myself in an incredibly toxic group of people. I thought they were great… until I started to notice red flags, I pulled away and everything burned down in flames. Now they have made it their personal vendetta to be vindictive and try to bring me down.

I have severe trust issues after the fact, it’s been over a year since I’ve last talked to these people but they are spreading false and harmful information about me online (to this day). I’ve lost a lot of people due to this.

How can I create new friendships without letting this get the best of me? I’m so scared of meeting more people who might try to hurt me.

Something I do know about trust is you have to be okay with people breaking it. People are unfortunately disappointing. It's a fact of life.

I get it. You desire closeness and mutual respect. The moment the safety of the relationship had been jeopardized, you fled. There's nothing wrong with leaving a toxic and unhealthy relationship with anyone.

However, that relationship doesn't define all of them. Just like you noticed the red flags, you'll notice them in other relationships as well. And keep in mind that people tend to put down others when they feel inferior or insecure.

Imagine how much they wish they could be like you, but that's not who they are, so they turn to vilifying you instead.

Trust that you'll find people who are authentic and respectful, even if you have to get hurt a few times by the serpents crawling across the ground.

I genuinely appreciate your perspective. Considering the slander they are spreading about me, I’m hoping Truth will prevail and eventually they will dig their own grave. Thankfully, I know my own truth and I have nothing to hide. Just harmful so much unfair information is spread viciously online.
