Hey everyone,

I have a friend I’ve known for 9 almost 10 years. However the last two years have been a little rocky. He has gotten busier at work, and has become more stressed. And I often find when I call to talk to him - he gets angry. For example, I can call to ask his advice on a topic and then he will get angry that I called. Or if I mis-speak or misunderstand or forget something that was discussed - he also gets frustrated and upset at me.

He is the main person in ky life where I get advice from (he gives great advice). However, I have noticed over the last couple of years, he has really stressed me. So much so when he gets angry I worry a lot about him being angry at me (even if it is just bc he is busy) and try to apologize or over apologize.

My question is - can excess work cause this strain on a relationship? And what should I do to help repair things - I feel like I can never do anything right nowadays….and is this normal? I feel like he takes his work frustration out on me at times…

Hello @quietHouse9708 ✨ I am sorry that you are going thru this with a good friend. Would you consider mentioning your feelings to him…? Maybe going out for a coffee and -from a place of love, expressing how you’ve been feeling - asking him if there’s something going on -apart from him being busy at work. Maybe he is just exhausted and his attitude is not personal…
