Support me
*My Name is Byaruhanga Kenneth, from Uganda, Africa.*
I was born with 4 other brothers. No girl. Just 5 boys. At first our home was wonderful and loving.
But that changed fast. My dad started chasing other women. He kept sleeping around on my mum. While we were watching that, we didn’t know my mum also had a man who was seducing her. So when separation came, it was easy. Mum left.
We remained home. Me, the eldest, with my 4 younger brothers. No mum. No direction. Just us boys.
Then my dad brought another woman. But this one was dangerous. She was planning to kill us. Yes, kill us. I was still young but I was ready to sacrifice myself for my brothers. I was not Jesus, but I was ready to die so they could live.
In all that chaos, God was there. Protection and guidance. We overcame through Christ. I was poisoned 3 times. Three times. But I’m still breathing. God refused to let me die.
When we came to Kampala, life got harder. No support. No school far. We failed to study because we had no one to help us. In Kampala we had no friends, no relatives, no house, nowhere to run to. We were alone.
At the lowest point I joined bad groups. We would abuse drugs, smoke, fight. That was my life.
But God found me. We joined church and immediately we started ministering. Today I can pray for someone and they get deliverance. They break. They get set free. But the truth is, cigarettes are still disturbing me. The addiction is still fighting me.
My brothers, apart from the youngest, are all addicted to marijuana now. Me, it’s cigarettes.
Jobs are scarce. They’re not working. Me, by God’s grace I have a small business of shoes. I stay with my fiancé. But the business needs support. It needs prayers.
Through everything — dad’s unfaithfulness, mum leaving, the dangerous woman, poison, Kampala struggles, addictions — God has kept me. I overcame through Christ, and I’m still overcoming.
If you’re reading this and you think your story is too broken, look at me. God can still use you. God can still keep you breathing. God can still turn pain into ministry.
Pray for me. Pray for my brothers. Pray for my small business. We are still standing, and we won’t stop.
