@jesusredeemedme2425  It depends.  I have been on Royal Caribbean and Carnival.  I prefer Carnival over RC.  The food is better on Carnival in my opinion.  And the ships are nice on RC in my opinion.  I also like the shows better on RC.  There is a lot to do on any cruise ship, but some have better activities than others.  I went to a cupcake decorating class on a Royal Caribbean Ship one time and that was so much fun.  But I wont' share a pic of the monstrosity that occured in that class.  The ports are usally really nice with good shopping and fun excursions.  I have done everything from horseback riding in the ocean, to holding a sloth, swimming with dolphins, and playing with the stingrays on the sand bar in Stingray City. 

The overall value of cruising if you live within driving distance of a cruise port, is definitely worth it.  I haven't done Alaska, New England, Europe, or Alaska because I have the cost of airfare on top of a cruise.  But I'm planning on Alaska in August.  I had to save extra money because it's a long trip and I need to stay overnight and arrange transportation to the cruise terminal.

All food is included in the cost of a cruise except for specialty restaurants.  There are italian restaurants, sushi bars, seafood shacks, steak houses, johnny rockets (a diner), mexican restaurants, etc...  I have only done specialty dining twice.  I don't usually feel the need because I can almost always get the exact same things as the fancy steakhouse in the main dining room.  Tea, basic coffee, juices, and lemonade are all included usually.  You have to pay extra for specialty coffee, sodas, alcohol, milkshakes, energy drinks, etc....  They do have packages for alcohol and soda that sometimes make sense.  I'm not a drinker so I never get the alcohol package.  But I do get the soda package.  Wifi is expensive, but you can get packages so you can access wifi at sea.  I like to stay in touch with my family while i'm travelling so I usually get the wifi package.  There are tons of activities for kids on any ship.  They have special clubs for young kids and for older kids and some ships have video arcades.  I have even been on ships that have ice skating and ice skating shows. 

Most if not all of the shows are usually included in the crusie fare.  The casino is extra.  Gift shops are extra and carnival ships have an awesome old fashioned candy shop called Cherry on Top. 

All ships are cashless which is nice.  You just give them your credit or debit card, or gift cards when you check in and it sets up an account and you can check anytime to see how much you have spent.  Your room key is what you use to charge anything extra on the ship to your account.

Some ships have IMAX theaters that you pay extra for, but it's a reasonable cost. 

The spa is expensive and they will inevitably push their products on you.  It's what they do.... they are sales people.  But the services are nice.  If you book a spa service while you are on a port day, some cruiselines offer cheaper rates for spa services during port hours.

What I love the best about cruises is that on a week long vacation, I get to visit 3 countries usually.  I have visited Jamaica, Honduras, Belize, The Bahamas, Key West, The Cayman Islands and Mexico.
