Write questions to put them up for debate! Not arguments, not banter… Just serious discussion of topics of your choosing. Be for or against, play devil’s advocate. Pretend you’re on the debate team. And have fun! <3

Please be kind and considerate. This is a discussion area; no judgement allowed <3

@jesusredeemedme2425 Are vampires or werewolves better romantic partners for humans?

@sadcat13

I would argue for werewolves; Cuddly, warm, and always ready to call to you by the light of the MoooooOOOOOOOON!.

@sadcat13

If it helps to sway you further, think on how affordable dating becomes with a werewolf...a handful of dog biscuits and a new tennis ball now and again is certainly going to stretch the budget less than all those roses and black lace with a vampire. Furthermore, just think of how much you will save on birthday cake candles...I would imagine when they get to be in the low hundreds they also become quite the fire risk.

@sadcat13 vampires obviously, because at night time at least you can be around them for canooodling and stuff 💖 plus chances are your partner would be over 300 years old so he knows how to be romantic💖

@jesusredeemedme2425 should museums and galleries return exponats that has been acquired through force (for example theft) to their rightful owners/family/country if it was never sold to them by the original owner who got it taken by force (they could be given it or sold by someone else, but the owner who it rightfully belonged to has not been involved at all)

@sadcat13 family and owners no probably not, ancient items or once that are important to history, should be in museums and preserved. Countries yes, but all countries would have to agree with this and then everyone return what doesn't belong to them 💖

@Tinywhisper11 i feel like it is extremely complicated too, because for example a lot of jewish people got their things taken during the second world war and now galleries don´t want to return their things (i think it was a famous case with dustav klimt´s "kiss" painting?), and there is the british museum problem too, but also a lot of times returned artifacts get sold on the black market, destroyed or damaged. So it´s certainly is hard to decide where the lines are

@jesusredeemedme2425 should everyone all over the world be taught to just speak the same language as each other??

User Profile: sadcat13

@Tinywhisper11 not really. The world would loose a lot of culture and variety by everyone becoming the same. But it´s important to have a common world language like english is, that can help you communicate with most of the world, while also keeping the original language of each individual country

If you replace all the parts of a boat with new ones, do you still have the same boat?

4 replies
User Profile: BastionKnight
BastionKnight July 23rd, 2025

@jesusredeemedme2425

Whilst all parts of the boat are replaced, they are added to the existing boat, becoming part of it. Just as the clay becomes a brick becomes a wall becomes a room becomes a part of a house each addition becomes something more than it's original. Likewise with the total boat it is more than just the sum of its parts.

But what of the historical nature of the boat parts? That too is something communal: The boat exists in time and each of its components grows as part of the whole. When a porthole window pane is cracked and replaced, the window continues to exist as an entity, and in time the pane is as much part of that window as it once was an addition. It has partaken in the shared lifetime of the window. As do all parts of the boat.

So whilst all parts are eventually replaced so that no original component remains, and a completely new boat floats where once the original once did, it is still also the original boat. Both brand new and ancient at the same time.

@jesusredeemedme2425 hard to say. I know they have a very bad statistics, but also a lot of times they are very well behaved and friendly. So I would say the truth is somewhere in the middle, and there should be caution around who is allowed to adopt one and how is the animal treated.

@jesusredeemedme2425 depends. Every family magically gets a garden? Yes, approved. Rich people make sure every family gets a garden? 100%, yes. Every family has to get a garden themself? Nope. Life’s wild enough without making gardens a compulsory part of them. Also, allergies xD

I think every family that wants a garden should be able to have one

Do you think everything should be modernized?

2 replies
User Profile: sadcat13
sadcat13 July 25th, 2025

@jesusredeemedme2425 no. Each school system reform is just making students dumber. I for example was of a generation when these smart boards started to be a thing slowly and they always frustrated me so hard. Genuinely. It´s inefficient, limiting and we already stare hours on glowing rectangles, don´t make us stare more.

Same with interior design. Fast food places look like they are experiencing midlife crisis, and every single place that gets modernized is either in sad beige or simply incredibly frustrating and inefficient. Who even thinks you need a number calling system in a damn pharmacy? Just stand in the line? It´s not rocket science... I am especially sad by how the human contact is getting minimized. We have a major loneliness and isolation problem, and even tho a lot of people are introverted, we all still need some level of basic social interaction, or at least be given a chance to choose to interact, with another human being face to face

Also I have a major bone to pick with modernisation of theatre classics. Sure, there is nothing wrong with watching an interpretation of a play in let´s say a modern version. But we fell down the other side of the horse so hard there is always just these modern interpretations and noone does the classic the traditional way anymore. And it saddens me deeply. You don´t need to have someone shove down the point of the story related to current political or other paralels down your throat. A good story has layers, and should be able to be enjoyed for what it is, or allow the viewer to draw their own conclusion and paralels. A good story does not need explaining. And we completely lost this.

What would an ideal retirement plan look like? What should be provided?

1 reply
User Profile: sadcat13
sadcat13 July 25th, 2025

@jesusredeemedme2425 i think an ideal retirement is one where you get enough money to survive without a struggle and be able to get assistence if you need in forms of healthcare, senior support services like meal delivery or cleaning help or even afford a dignified care home later on if needed. You also should have an option to choose how long will you work, with the treshold of can retire around early to mid 60s., but you can choose to work some more.
