Going Shopping!
What’s your favorite store or type of store to walk around in? How about your least favorite?
@jesusredeemedme2425 I love all stores except clothes, I get bored of those very fast. Like. Two stores and I turn into my dad, who just wants to go home and feels like his soul is being sucked out. I especially don't like trying things on, because it makes me untie my massive shoes, get out of them and back in, repeatedly.
It's a struggle to find anything that fits me, since I'm shaped like a cardboard box, so most of the clothes are too big on one part and too tight on another. #justiceforboxes 😂📦
Most of the time, I shop at thrift stores because of this or little Asian stores in the neighborhood. Their stuff is awesome, and much more proportional for my bodytype. It's also surprisingly good quality. I can wear things from there for years, constantly, before it gets damaged. On the other hand, normal store things are damaged very fast. The worst crime happened when I had to buy a pair of work shorts (ones that are around knee length). There were ones that were fine, and they had ripped bottom. Not even fashionably ripped, just straight out shipwrecked ripped. I paid an ungodly amount of money for them, just to finish the damned bottom hems abecause the maker couldn't be bothered. Most expensive DIY of my life. Also, why is everything a crop top in stores. Like come on. Some of us want the other half of the shirt too. Sure, sell crop tops but PLEASE. Keep some options for people who like their kidneys too 😭
That's why I stopped buying shoes in the normal shoe stores and go for sport or Asian stores.
The one I get in the store? Waterproof by label, expensive, gets flooded with 2mm or rain, falls apart in three months of wearing if we are generous. The sport/Asian store ones? I wear it daily for 1-3 years, what is completely normal use time for shoes if you wear them daily. It often has no waterproof label, but I could walk into a pool and it would probably still hold.
We have a store called "Princess Auto" it's the Canadian version of "Harbour Freight" basically a toy store for MEN 😁 one giant surplus store that's chock full of tools, trailer parts, the strangest odds and ends and the deals are incredible.
Least fav, Costco on any given day. That place is a mad house and I hate crowds. Only thing they are good for is gas, I get there at 6AM and never a line up. Any other time of the day and I can waite a good 20 minutes to fill up.
I've missed your icebreakers 😂 Least favourite, probably footwear as I have specific tastes and am generally disappointed, not finding something that appeals.
Current favourite is this local kinda international supermarket, they import foods/snacks from all over the world but it's very reasonably priced so I'm trying things I can't even pronounce and nearly all of it has been the highest quality, so fun :)

I love browsing thrift shops and antique stores. 💕
@peachThinker662 I was into those places for a few years... Antique stores can be interesting, & often are.
- Fave: hardware store
- Close 2nd: gun store
- Most disliked: clothing store or anything in a mall
Also - Pawn shops are great--if you are a buyer. I've never applied for a loan nor brought anything in as collateral, so I don't have any experience with that. I've gotten some good deals inside a pawn shop.
Least favorite is clothing store.
Favorite is toy store.
