Im more of a tells a story person myself, lets u get away from the world and see the point of view of the artist/ character and learn what they felt in the time they are portraying! Any genera from musical theater to heavy metal if it tells a story Im in! Let me know ur point of view

I prefer lyrics.
Both. But the songs with good lyrics will stay with you forever if you connect with them. Where as music without lyrics or plain lyrics, might connect but it'll never mean as much as that song you can sing with and feel in your heart.
I prefer music with good rhythm. I often listen to songs in different languages so the first thing i notice is how colourful the production is

I think I'd always take music with stories. That's part of why I love Broadway shows because there's such emotion and good rhythm going along with a story worth telling.
