Do you know nutrition? Can you help me avoid the delicious apple fritter?

Good day!

I am looking for someone who might be helpful in supporting me with managing my eating habits better. I have been working with a personal trainer for several months. I am making amazing progress in my program. At my last session she told me that my eating needs to change and it is holding me back from making significant progress with weight loss. I can do ok for part of the day, but then I fall off and eat junk. I am very much an emotional eater - I believe. I am not necessarily looking for live chats... More just checking in daily/almost daily... Encouragement. Someone with knowledge of food, nutrition, healthy living, weight loss, running, emotional eating.

I tend to prefer adults who are closer to my age - 30s - and married with kids. However, I am open to anyone who is wiling to be there and help me keep away from the junk food.

Really I am looking for a place where I can dump my emotions when I am staring down an apple fritter. If this is you then I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks for reading this.

Hi @RunCatRun!

I'm right there with you, except that although I'm married, I don't have kids, and right now I can't go running because I have a stress fracture in my right foot. So I just do walks.

I find that by the time I'm staring at an apple fritter, I've already lost that battle. What works for me is avoiding it entirely. Where do you encounter the junk food that tempts you? If it's in your house, can you avoid buying more? (I hate throwing food out!) If it's at work, can you pack a more nutritious lunch?

@Danacole I avoid buying it as much as I can. However, some stuff is kept on hand to bribe my kids. lol

nutrition and exercise go hand in hand so its vital you control what you eat. the trick is to rewire yourself in this situation. so for instance if you are an emotional junk food eater, try to condition your mind in a way where it attaches negative emotions with healthy food. for example, next time you are feeling stressed, take a shot of organic apple cider vinegar with water. this can reduce both stress and the waistline along with many other things. maybe even some green tea with lemon. the point is, eventually your brain will automatically condiiton itself to associate certain feelings with certain types of foods which are not junk.

you can also treat yourself once in a while, but this is where alot of people fail as one cheat meal turns into much more. so just keep that in mind.
