Best Friend abandoned me at the worst time
This past July I moved from Texas to Oregon to get away from my abusive family and went no contact which has been difficult on its own. I’ve been planning since February to do this and the only person who knew was my best friend back home. For months until I left, he swore to be there to support me promising to keep in contact and never to leave me high and dry. Two days into moving he goes silent on me. However, I don’t give up and periodically reached out and we started talking again and did so weekly. I never got an answer as to what happened because he said he didn’t want to talk about it and I respected that. This went on until around Halloween and he went silent again. I’ve texted him a few times with him no reply. I’m so hurt by this, for months I was led to believe my friend would stick by my side. Now I’m in a city all alone without my precious cats, no friends, and a job I hate. I don’t know what happened, everything was going good up until then. I feel so depressed and alone. Sometimes I wish I could suck it up and be an adult because I know long distance friendships never work however I’m struggling to accept the end. I know this friendship is over but I want the last word. I want him to realize how bad he hurt me. I don’t know what to do. Should I call him, text him 10 times? Make a voice memo? I can’t do this all alone, I’ve been so terribly dissociative and anxious. All I want is a hug and to believe it’ll all be okay.
