31st December 2025

As I sit with this last page of the year, I realize 2025 wasn’t just a year it was a whole story with a beautiful beginning and a painfully quiet ending.

The first half of the year still feels warm when I think about it. January to April were kind to me. Life felt alive. I met people unexpectedly, and somehow, without effort, they became important. Conversations felt easy, laughter was genuine, and time passed without me watching the clock. I created memories I didn’t even know would matter this much later.

Then there was that group chat.
The best one I ever had.
The kind where notifications felt like comfort, where names on a screen felt like people who actually cared. Late-night talks, shared moods, random jokes, emotional vents everything felt mutual. I got attached slowly, naturally, deeply.

“Some connections don’t need daily presence, they just need honesty and I thought we had that.”

Back then, I believed this was permanent. I believed people stay. I believed effort would always be met halfway. I believed happiness could last.

But May arrived, and with it, everything began to change quietly. No big fights. No dramatic endings. Just distance. Replies became late, then dry, then rare. Laughter turned into formality. Familiarity turned into silence. I kept wondering what I did wrong, when in reality, sometimes things don’t break they just fade.

“Losing people slowly hurts more than losing them all at once.”

From May to December, I didn’t just lose people I lost pieces of myself. The group chat that once felt like home became empty. The people I trusted became memories. I went from being surrounded to feeling isolated, even when my phone was in my hand. I learned how loud silence can be.

“There’s a special kind of loneliness when the people who once made you feel seen stop seeing you.”

I tried holding on. I tried understanding. I tried staying soft in a world that kept hardening me. But somewhere along the way, I learned that not everyone who enters your life is meant to stay, and not every attachment is meant to survive time.

This year taught me unspoken lessons
That love without balance hurts.
That attachment without security drains.
That being strong sometimes means letting go quietly.

“I wasn’t asking for forever, I was just asking for consistency.”

Now, at the end of 2025, I feel different. Not bitter just aware. I carry beautiful memories from the first half and heavy truths from the second. I’m ending this year more alone than I started, but also more self-aware, more protective of my heart, and more honest with myself.

“Maybe some people come into our lives not to stay, but to remind us that we can feel deeply.”

Goodbye, 2025.

You gave me friendships that felt like home and lessons that felt like heartbreak.
I hope 2026 gives me peace, stability, and people who don’t leave quietly.
