The prevailing attitude towards those who are different or disabled is still one of stigma and negativity.

There are many inspiring self advocates out there pushing for change, and more pressure is needed on governing bodies, health care and all other systems to change their game to include disabled and different people.

If life is hard enough for those lucky enough to be born normal, imagine how hard it is for people who don't get the help, support or basic human rights they deserve every day, some for their whole lives.

As someone who has been passed over and treated like less while others refuse to change their attitudes for 26 years I know this either has to stop or I will...how much more suffering is expected of me and so many others before people will stop using the word '***' (Like my building managers.) thinking they can just wish us away or fire us when we don't keep up (Starbucks.) or simply refuse to acknowledge that there's any room for the billion people born different or with disabilities?

There is room, and data backs up how vital it is focus on that and it's time for everyone to slow down and stop with the stigma against disabled or different people.

This is a post with a video that hopefully helps further that process.

I want to add that the prevalent attitude is not just one of stigma and a negative attitude but of flat out abuse; benign neglect, ignorance and turning a blind eye.
