Feeling lost in a big life change

I’m in a long-term relationship (10+ years), and we’re very different — he’s logical, I’m emotional. We have 4 kids, and I’ve been a stay-at-home mom most of the time, financially dependent on him.

We’re in the process of moving across the country to a place I’ve never been. The decision felt rushed, and it wasn’t really mine. I feel invisible and overwhelmed.

I’m depressed, anxious, and struggling to find any calm. I don’t really have anyone to talk to, so I’m reaching out here hoping maybe someone understands. I’m not looking for advice right now — just connection.

@tinytoads hello toads, thank you for reaching out. Your story struck a chord with me; moving with children is always daunting, more so when it's to somewhere you've never been - additionally it sounds as though you have no connection there at all, with no mention of any contacts waiting for you. Can you identify what it is specifically that's concerning you? Is it the fear of the move itself, or - more tangibly - a sense of irritation at having to go along with a decision that wasn't yours? You've referred to you and your partner having different reactionary styles, is this a factor?
