Finding a purpose in life
I cant find the purpose of my life and it gives me anxiety and depression. I wonder how you people overcome this situation. Thanks a lot
Finding meaning in life is one of the greatest and most difficult questions to face; it is okay if you struggle with it. Many people in the past and present face it everyday. If you’re curious about how I came to my purpose in life, I would say that I actually gave up trying to establish a specific purpose. Instead of looking or creating meaning, I sat back and allowed myself to draw towards things that naturally resonate with me. In this way, compassion and kindness, towards myself and others, comes from healing and sort of happens naturally as rivers flow. Consequently, purpose in my life becomes a felt experience of wanting to be present with others and flow with harmony. You can look more of this up with Daoism and Buddhist philosophy if you wish. I love how Daoism is about not searching but being. In the state of being, you’ll find what you’re looking for the easiest as searching narrows you down, but existing allows things to come to you with openness.
@TheLightofKintsugi this is very wise, and thank you for posting. I agree when I'm being kind to myself I can see my problems clearly and can think of solutions to overcome them
@patientOwl979. I have been reading about philosopical thoughts about existence and i am so satisfied with all. I can share if you want.
Hello! I can relate and feel this way all the time, I don’t know my path anymore and I don’t trust myself to finish any of my goals
Try not to take life too seriously. Instead focus on shorter goals like enjoying each day, Instead of stressing yourself with a lifetime purpose. Live in the moment and look for happiness. Not always easy to do, but easier than trying to figure out your entire extended life.

I’d say by taking one day at time and definitely not putting any pressure on yourself. Enjoy the small things in life and taking good care of yourself. These things can take time to develop, so no rush, small steps 🌹
@patientOwl979 something that was really helpful for me is DBT, specifically the emotional regulation skills like accumulating the positives, building mastery, and so on.
For me, the purpose of everyone’s life is easy: hapiness. Do what makes you happy, get near people that makes you happy, pf course, there will be sad moments, but as long as you are satisfied with yourself you will find peace.
have a good day :)
It takes time to find your true purpose in life , I have met some people who realises late in life that they actually had no purpose at all ,it was in the things they enjoyed - they realised late that their purpose was someone they cared about, their hobbies etc. So they advised me to take small steps and do what I like - even if it's a small hobby or a thing or someone I care about. Because when u we do these small things that make our heart happy, it gradually gives growth to our brain Which can actually lead us to discover our true purpose or passions. For example I liked swimming as a kid , and used to do it as fun but now I have been realising that someday maybe I will try swimming as an athlete someday. But I realised this after I did it . So yeah small steps towards the things u like. Also sometimes your purpose will come with time. Like when I was 20 I started having dreams in which stories will come in my mind and I am thinking about publishing them someday , but god do give us hints ,I always liked reading stories as a child. That's what im telling u,if u keep doing the small things that u like ,it will lead u to your greater purpose. So start small.
@patientOwl979 When I met this kind of problems that cause me fall into negative emotions, I will use video games to divert my attention. Everyone is the protagonist in their life so don't be sad about those emotions.
