How can I be less sensitive and more calmer?

As a teen I always struggle with the awful anxious thoughts that keep me on edge no matter what time or place. I have begun to distance myself from my friends at school and other places because I feel like I get neglected but then I feel horrid when I start to doubt if I'm looking too closely at things. It feels like my friends are trying their best to include me but yet I feel so lonely.

It is like I am too sensitive easily triggered from smallest things that make my walls instantly try shutting out others. I also get highly defensive and emotional the moment someone tries to say something that means losing things that make me feel better even if the other person might not mean it the way I believe. I feel horrible from all this. Especially after I feel a certain burden of expectations from everyone to do my best when I struggle with procrastination and also have started to fear school in a way I never did before.

I really wish to vent to someone I trust but then I instantly close off thinking I will make the matter worse or other person doesn't reply the way I wish someone would say something to me.........Everyone has been telling me to think more calmly and stop getting super defensive or start yelling as instant thing after someone picks on me. I don't know what to do anymore, not when I have my exams soon but I can't seem to focus on studying.

It feels like lowest point when my sibling always is trying to turn my parents against me and convince them I'm never studying. Now everyone has started to believe that I don't study everytime I stay in my room or use my laptop. ):

Sorry for such a long paragraph I don't know what I am capable of anymore and what not. I always plan to study or do certain things since they are meant for myself but to make the matters worse I never do anything I initially plan.
For those who suffer from something similar to this I hope all of you are able to have things turn into better events. (Sorry I don't know how to convey good luck in better manner)

I'm sorry that you are struggling with so much 💛

It's hard when we overthink everything and push people away.

It's not easy to open up, to be honest, to reach out as you are.

That's courageous 💛

You are very welcome here.

It's important to try and put coping mechanisms in place in your daily life, that allows you to feel more like yourself .

What works for me is reminding myself I'm safe, this will pass soon, it cannot hurt me.

Counting my breaths until my breathing slows down.

Listening to music to drown out the overthinking.

Writing down my feelings to process things.

And just knowing we are all only human, trying our best to navigate our way through life, it's not always easy and it's natural to be sensitive at times and even overly but it doesn't make you a bad person 💛

Thank you Amanda. I have tried using coping mechanisms but they mostly fail and small things or events going in vain usually make it harder 🙁

Thank you though I’ll try some of the mechanisms you mentioned 🩵

I wanted to respond when I read this earlier but didn't know what to say. I'm pleased Amanda has and I hope it helps. I'm facing the same issues.
