How do you control your emotions from interfering with your day?

Hi guys I'm new here and have been seeing so many people getting support here so I decided to talk about this

I am applying for colleges this year and have a lot doing...

From studying for my exam, self studying web design, taking online classes on alternating days), writing a lot of essays (I haven't even written much and I need to meet some November deadlines), I also have pending books I need to read first before I start the application process for colleges. Also I have to research and revise my list all over again and other things I can't remember at this time.

Normally I have a schedule and it makes me super productive but everyday I end up not following it and just feeling sad and hating myself. This started happening after I took a practice test for my exam and still haven't reached the scoring range that I badly want... I am still so far from it. I have consistently been studying and studying yet I still haven't reached it (but I don't wanna talk about that now).

Due to me still getting low scores in the practice test and my exam is on the first week of October I feel really pressured.. I feel really sad I won't get up to what I want, I won't be able to apply to the colleges I want etc. I have tried my best saying positive stuffs that I can do it etc but my emotions really interferes with my day.

I might be studying now and then will just feel like crying/start crying or just lose the motivation and then start being worried etc... I literally have barely two weeks left to my exam and its almost November (when my essays have to be ready) I have to get my *** together but no matter how hard I try its just not happening 😥

My priorities rn is my exam, then essays, then coding ( I really have to start learning python but only want to do that after I completely understand the basics of computer programming, web development yet I'm still at CSS I really know I can do better and finish the entire course in one month) then reading those books, and the rest falls under.

I really want to give applying to colleges my best shot but I get overwhelmed, sad, emotional, feel like ***, compare myself, and many more and all these emotions just interferes with my day... I am never fully happy everyday... Only sad...

I don't know what, how to control my emotions and be productive everyday like I want to ... This has taken me a long time to realize and now that I do I really need help as soon as possible so I won't be regretful later.

Please if anyone has been in the same situation as me... How did you cope or deal with navigating your emotions... Every response will be greatly appreciated thank you

(P.S. So sorry the text is very long I am naturally just a talkative but I tried highlighting the important parts but didn't know how to since I'm new to this website)

@Nevergoodenoughpro101 Hey! I'm not sure where you live and what passing exams means regarding school selection, but from my experience, practice exams tend to be a bit harder than the real deal. I think the biggest thing I've done to manage school work is to make sure other people (classmates, teachers, etc) also know about the personal goals being set. This has created a solid accountability system for me and has definitely gotten me through mental slumps. It's been 6 years since I've applied to an undergraduate program, but applying to colleges for the first time can be stressful.

Just remember that unless you are going into a highly specialized field, many colleges have good programs for the degrees they offer. Even if you don't get into your top school, you'll be fine going to other institutions.

Hope this helped

@Nevergoodenoughpro101 honestly I'm still trying to figure that out or I just have really intense emotions that make it seem harder

Hi, good luck with your study course! Of course first priority is getting your stuff done, but remember to try to get your sleep too if you can. That helps. Also spending some time outdoors (even if it’s just raking leaves) 🍁.
