I don’t know why this is happening

Recently I have had this extreme fear that if I go outside I’m gonna be a victim of a violent crime. It’s literally all I think about and it’s gotten to a point that I’m scared to go outside my own house at night or leave the house alone to get food or something. I don’t know why this is happening or how to make it stop. I know it’s not normal but idk what to do

Hey there, I just want to say I’m really sorry you’re feeling this way, but I think it’s amazing that you’re opening up about it. You’re already showing strength just by acknowledging it.

First off, I want you to know that you’re not alone in feeling this way. Fear can be overwhelming, but it doesn’t define you.

You’re stronger than

you

think, and even small steps, like opening the door or steppin outside for a few minutes, count as victories.

I know it’s tough, but fear can be deceptive—it often makes things seem worse than they really are. Try to challenge the thoughts when they pop up: “What’s the real likelihood of something happening?” Remember,

progress is small but

powerful, and it doesn’t have to happen overnight.

You don’t have to do this alone—I’m here if you need someone to talk to. You’re doing better than you think, and you’ve got this. Take it one step at a time. 🌟

Hey Peach,

That sounds like a reall6 difficult thing to deal with.

Very often fears are irrational and unrealistic, but that doesn't stop them causing us severe stress or extreme fear at times.

Do you struggle with Anxiety usually?

It may be worth seeing if you can speak to a therapist to help you share and perhaps learn where this fear may be coming from.

PTSD and OCD can cause intrusive thoughts that can cause fear. I'm in no way implying you struggle with either, but because of what you said about being afraid of going outside because of this extreme fear and how that is affecting you, I just wonder if that could have anything to do it.

Whatever may be the cause, I hope you are able to connect with a caring therapist who can help you through it.

Here is you want to respond or share.
