Low self-esteem and can’t do nothing to change it
Hi! I’m Dary and this is my first post.
I live in the Dominican Republic and here is really common for principals to make boys cut their hair just to teach them how to follow some rules and they think it’s ok to do it even though the law says the opposite, my hair was kind of long and it was the only thing that made me feel like I looked good.
I went to school without cutting it just to confront the principal cause I know my rights and I wasn’t gonna let him step on them but he thought I was saying some random stuff, then I went to the district school to report it but they just tried to convince me to cut it and told me that I could make that change but slowly.
Now I cut it and I cant even look at myself in the mirror cause I hate how I look and I ever cry when I think about it.
i know I would never be able to k11l myself but I think about dy1ng constantly since all that problem happened, and I don’t know what to do cause I don’t wanna look this ugly for a whole year before I finish school
As long as you have this superficial view of beauty you will never see how beautiful you really are. Innate beauty cannot be covered or taken away. Because of this attachment to the image of yourself you cannot see yourself. You will not be at this school forever. This is the purpose of cutting hair, to strip someone of their individuality. If you are attached to this image you identify as it will be painful when it is changed by someone other than yourself.
If all of your attention is on this one thing, your hair, it will bother you if it is changed.
Find what it is that you are good at while at school. Through self expression in a different way you will find your individuality.
@Daryen dary sorry to hear that. It’s okay you can always grow your hair after school. Just be positive and don’t worry about it
