Memory loss

Can someone please tell me why I always forget things? Like, I try to memorize something, and I always end up forgetting. I don't get it. Why does this happen? It has always been like that since I was around 7 or 8 years old (I'm 14 now). My mom thinks I'm lying, but every time I try to explain, she always ends up guilt-tripping me. Not to mention, she keeps saying it's my fault for not being religious enough, and I'm still young; I won't forget things. I feel ashamed, and I'm super disappointed in myself, especially whenever I have to memorize something for school; I end up forgetting. Someone told me it might be a sign of ADHD, but I can't tell since my parents will never let me visit a therapist or a doctor.

It'll be nice if someone tries to listen to my problems or maybe responds to this thread.ย

Thank you for reading.

@Sherbeto sorry your going through this. It could be caused by a mental condition or you maybe over stressed. You could probably ask for help at school if you have a student health center. At the end of the day, you're going to have to find ways to help you deal with your forgetfulness. Calendars, reminders, lists, and alarms have helped me. Creating a routine has also helped me. Those are some things that have helped me. Keep fighting for yourself and voicing your concerns, it is hard but eventually you'll find someone who can help you.

Don't worry my friend

Just try your best convincing your mom

It's simple that you have the tests earlier, so understand Life is a test you will be having problems 24/7

If anyone say there will be happiness forever it's false.

Your mother not trusting while you are not lying is a test for you.

Just seek refuge in god and move forward

Do what you could do, but do. Rest god will take care
