Happy New Year, 7 Cups Community!

As we step into a new year, many of us are looking for ways to grow, give back, and challenge ourselves. If you have found value in our community and want to help shape its future, 2026 might be the perfect time to explore our Leadership Opportunities.

Leadership at 7 Cups is about more than just a badge. It’s about service. It is a chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others while growing personally and professionally. Whether you want to mentor new listeners, ensure our forums remain safe, or help lead specific projects, there is a place for you here.

Here is an overview of how our leadership opportunities are structured and the different paths you can take.

✨ The Leadership Structure: TiersOur leadership roles are designed to help you grow step-by-step. You can start small and work your way up as you gain experience and confidence.

  • Tier I: Support Level This is the first step in your leadership journey. At this level, you focus on providing immediate guidance and uplift to specific groups.

    • Examples: Room Supporter, Forum Supporter, Chatroom Supporter.

  • Tier II: Mentor Level Once you are ready to guide others, you can step up as a mentor. In these roles, you support peers in the Support Level and work to improve the quality of specific projects.

    • Examples: Community Mentor, Quality Mentor, Chatroom Moderator.

  • Tier III: Mentor Leader Level This is a high-level volunteer role where you oversee mentors and ambassadors to scale up and strengthen projects. You help ensure accountability and growth within your team.

    • Examples: Safety Mentor Leader, Group Support Mentor Leader, Community Mentor Leader.

  • Tier IV: Ambassador Level The highest volunteer leadership role. Ambassadors spearhead focused projects and work closely with the Admin team to align individual goals with the collective mission of 7 Cups.

Choose Your Path: Domains & Categories Leadership isn't one-size-fits-all. You can choose a "Domain" that matches your personal interests and strengths:

  • Listener Quality: Focus on helping listeners grow. Roles include Quality Mentors and Listener Verifiers who help maintain the high standard of active listening on the site.

  • Forum Leadership: If you love writing and discussion, you can help manage our sub-communities. Roles like Forum Supporter and Community Mentor help keep threads supportive and engaging.

  • Group Support: For those who thrive in real-time conversation, this domain manages the chatrooms. Room Supporters and Moderators foster a safe, positive environment for group support.

  • Safety: A critical domain dedicated to keeping the community secure. The Safety Patrol and Safety Outreach Team work to educate members and respond to unsafe activity.

  • Academy & Training: Passionate about education? Academy Mentors guide trainees through our leadership and listening courses, helping equip the next generation of volunteers.

Ready to Step Up? If you are ready to embrace a "New Year, New Opportunity," we invite you to explore these roles further. Whether you have 10 minutes a day or 10 hours a week, your leadership can change lives.

Listeners, check out the full list of roles and requirements on the Leadership Training Page.

Members, you’ve got opportunities too! See this forum post I made HERE! We’d absolutely love your help to help your peers!

We also have an expanded version in the form of a dashboard that’s accessible to both members and listeners. I suggest checking this one out too (HERE) and PMing the leaders with any questions you may have about their areas!
