@OnlyWinter
Hi Cute Fishy Fishy! 😊❤️ And what a lovely pond it is my friend! Thank you! ❤️
Happy go chat with you here *glub glub* *bubbles bubbles* and Ribbit 😊
How are you doing today?
@FineFrog15
I'm swimming to see this site, how are you froggy? 🐸
Let's chat here about anything 😀
@OnlyWinter
Hi Fishy Fishy! 😊❤️ Happy to see you up and swimming around the site today as well as in our pond.
Lets see.....how am I doing today? I'm up, awake and it's the start to a brand new day! 😊 I'm grateful for that cup of coffee to help put a little spring in my step. For me the day is young and I'm confident there will be much for me to see today in my travels. I am hopeful.
I like to remain hopeful that joyful moments will come my way, that I will have positive interactions with others and that others will see my good intentions and receive things in the kind spirit in which they were intended to be helpful. I'll do my personal best. I hope to be receptive to others and to learn something new. I hope to, as always, see challenges as opportunities in disguise for learning and growth. Some days you lose some, some days you win some! lol 😊 Fall down, get up, fall down, get up. There is much more to be said about a human being in how they got back up than in how they fell down to begin with. 😊❤️
You offered to chat here about anything that I would like. The feeling is mutual. I'd love to hear your thoughts as well,❤️ my sweet Fishy fine finned friend. I'd love to hear what is on your mind, how it is that you are feeling, etc. I am receptive. Sharing is caring! Weeeeeeeeeee weeeeeeeeeee! 😊
For me, what is on my mind today is something that I said that was helpful to another a few days ago. It highly resonated with them and now the beauty of it is, is that it has come full circle and I get to apply it to my day from yesterday (but yet in reverse mode). I get to be like, yup! There it is! I see it in my own life as well.
I guess the topic was chasing things in life (but in the wrong way), trying to control and that some times the harder you grip on to something the more elusive it becomes. Sometimes in life, one needs to allow things to open up and flourish organically and all in due time. I likened it to an analogy of a tube of toothpaste. The tube of toothpaste with the cap removed, well............go ahead, grab it right in the center, squeeze it. You had it in the palm of your hand all along, but you never stopped squeezing it and so now, it is all gone.
I'm glad what I said was helpful to them and helpful to me as well. 😊❤️
Hoping for you, a very happy Wednesday sweet Fishy. I send *hugs* ❤️
@FineFrog15
Froggy! 🐸 🫂
I'm so glad to hear your thoughts. I'm doing ok, I guess, I could have been better, but see, people are disappointing and I get disappointed. It's been rough but I tried to pretend I'm alright. Because I can't tell them, hey I deserve some appreciations lol
I don't want to ruin your positive outlook by sharing my thoughts 🐡 😮
I enjoy reading anything you have in mind. Ribit ribit 🐸
@OnlyWinter
I understand and fully that others can and will disappoint us from time to time. Even the best of relationships (any type of ship) requires work. I am sorry others have let you down and I send you big big *hugs* ❤️
@FineFrog15
What is it that you are chasing though? 🐸
@OnlyWinter
Hi my wonderful Fishy friend! 😊❤️ I am doing great today! Thank you for asking! ❤️ How are you doing?

@FineFrog15
Froggy 🐸 I have a topic to discuss for or pond 😀
Let's talk about, what are your strengths and weaknesses? 🐸🐡
@OnlyWinter
Hi my wonderful Fishy friend! 😊❤️ So happy to see you here in our pond! 😊 *glub glub* ❤️
Wow! Sweet Fishy, this is an amazing question! 😳 Thank you for asking ❤️. I will and try and do my best for you! Okay....lets see....what I do I feel as if my strengths and weaknesses are? ..........
I guess I'll start with what I feel as if where my strengths lie.....
One of my strong suits is definitely empathy for others. I feel as if it's simply my natural inclination. I do truly care about others and their feelings. Given the choice, I'd always choose to be a positive force in someones elses life as opposed to a negative. No harm, only help.
I am someone that is high on the agreeableness scale as well as the consciousness scale. I am someone that is of high integrity. I am loyal to a fault. And that can mean sacrifice at times on my part. I do my best to walk a path of authenticity and keep my commitments to others. If I am asked a question and I don't think it's appropriate or needed for me to answer it, I simply say so politely. I'd always choose this route as opposed to telling a blatant lie. In an effort to make others feel okay about feeling inquisitive, I can simply say, feel free to ask however whether I choose to answer or not is up to me, lol. 😊
I am very good about and committed to keeping private information private. I don't gossip about others or triangulate even if it is done to me. I believe that two wrongs do not make a right. I am better than that, I am above that. I answer to me about my behavior. If someone tells me a secret, it is always safe with me.
I do not compete against others. My last greatest victory is the only thing I compete against. I compete against me and me only. Instead of competing against others, I like to cheer them on and help them along. I am not jealous of others. Instead, I am proud of others accomplishments, would do anything I can to help them along and simply bask in their glow and be happy that I was a part of their greatness.
I am a true team player. I feel that we all win together and I would be quick to defer to another as well as stand back and allow someone to stand in that spot light because they might need that affirmation more than I do at that moment. I really feel like, and to the core of my being........that if and when it's my time to be noticed for any achievement, for being kind and good, for keeping my head down and for doing the right thing........it will happen. It will come and it will happen organically with out me doing anything other than me simply being me. This is the beauty of when it happens. It has happened for me and with quiet moments of others "seeing me" and appreciating me. ❤️ No wee bit of kindness is ever lost on me. Kind words said to me I hold in my heart and always.
I have the ability to focus and for long periods of time. I have a great memory. I am able to notice trends, things out of place, patterns and most quickly. I am highly organized and highly self governed. I pick up on nuance and innuendo. I can read between the lines.
I don't complain. I have gratitude moments and am happy with what it is that I do have and focus less on what it is that I don't.
Now for the weaknesses............I have plenty of those ........
My learning style is experiential learning and I also have a tendency to not want to burden others in helping me with the experience with technology. Technology is not my forte'. If someone where to help me with things then I could be so much better. I do well with the practice effect. Once I understand it, I got it and I can run far with the ball once I am able to catch it. I make do and do my best and simply show up. I almost have to wonder if I'm a techno phobe some days, lol 😊 Clearly this is not a good thing and there is much room for improvement.
I have a deep respect for authority. This can be a problem sometimes if it takes me a long time to finally speak up and out against someone showing an abuse of power. I think I do my best to manage the situation for a bit too long before raising the red flag.
I also do this in relationships and any type of "ship". I have a tendency to give others too many chances. Just like sponges, we all have our saturation point and mine is quite high before I finally determine that enough is enough. However, once I make that choice, I do not reconsider as I know that my mind is made up and their is no more unfinished emotional business to take care of. This can take others unaware as they would think I would have put up with it for longer. I'm getting better at making my needs and wants known earlier on. It's boundary issues and I'm getting better and better at creating boundaries.
I mentioned empathy as a strength earlier however it can also be ones downfall. There are times when I don't "hold space" for myself in the same ways that I do for others and I know that is something that I need to work on continually.
I guess I can be a bit quirky at times? I don't do what everyone else does all of the time. I don't see the need to. I don't feel the need to be right I just need to be happy with my choices.
Well, I hope I did a good job here. I'm sure I could think of more.
How about you my lovely Fishy friend? What do you feel are your strengths? What do you feel are your weaknesses? I'd love to hear what is on your mind.
*high fives* 😊 and big *hugs* ❤️
@FineFrog15
High fives and hugs 🫂 🐸
@OnlyWinter
Hi Fishy Fishy! 😊❤️ *glub glub* 🐡 and *ribbit ribbit* 🐸
I guess from reading above and from you sharing with me elsewhere in the forum areas that you are having a hard time right now. I certainly do understand that concept. *raises hand* 😳 Secret for you, I have had a bit of a difficult time myself lately, too.
What I hear you saying is that others have disappointed you. I'm so sorry my friend ❤️. I'm also sensing that it's keeping you away from our pond. That is okay. Take your time 😊❤️. The best things in life are truly worth the wait.
Just thought I would mention, that it's okay to not feel okay. Our pond doesn't always have to have potpourri and cupcakes wrapped around the perimeter. I can be a good friend to you and we can still swim here in the pond together and you can express things that are making you feel sad or unhappy too. I will do my best for you. I will listen to you. We all deserve to be heard and understood.
Sweet Fishy Fish, I send you big big *hugs* ❤️
*puts wooden sign in front of pond* "Welcome! Come one and come all! Feel free to enjoy our Ond.....that's right....remember to keep the P out of the Ond, lol 😊 Bathrooms to the left and concession stand to the right. Please enjoy your stay". Weeeeeeeeeeeeee weeeeeeee! 😊
Ribbit 🐸
(Hoping I could make you laugh with that one Fishy Fish)
can't put all of the emojis here with out making everything look highlighted.......mentioned....above......one of my weaknesses, lol
@FineFrog15
Froggy, those are amazing traits! Your being conscientious, empathy, good at keeping secret, that means you are trustworthy, and you have great memory!
For me, my strengths are sincerity 😀, honesty, I can feel people's motivation whether it is good or not, and I'm good at keeping secret too.
My weaknesses are I'm often naive, I take time too long to make decisions, I'm often hesitate, I keep things to myself, but it might be my strength haha 😀
(When you mentioned about not being competitive, it reminds me of something. I have this circle of friends irl, I feel one of them is often being envious of me and my other friend. So, whenever I or my other friend got praised by my boss, he would make sarcastic comments. My friend and I tried to just keep calm and ignored it but it is quite annoying.) That was why I put it in my self appreciation, that I'm not an envious person cuz envy person can be nosy. 😵
Next, point about being quirky. I think it is cool to be quirky! I'm quirky too! 🐡 I do things differently 😀
How are you doing today, Froggy? 🐸 What is it that you are struggling with right now?
*High five and big 🫂 *
*winter is sad cries*
@OnlyWinter
Hi my wonderful Fishy friend! 😊❤️ So happy to hear from you! *swims with* Weeeeeeeee weeeeeee! 😊
Thank you for your positive affirmations of me as well as of my positive traits. I'm glad that you see them as good and worthy things of a way for a person to be! ❤️
I loved hearing about your strengths as well. *high fives* 😊 Those are beautiful traits to possess!
I'm glad that you felt comfortable enough to share with me something that has been on your mind. ❤️ I can certainly see how your friend behaving this way would be frustrating as well as disappointing. I'm glad that you can see it for what it's worth, that it does fall under the category of competitiveness and it's not an admirable trait for a friend of ours to have when they see us as their competition.
True friends will lift us up, be happy for us when we have done well and do their best to even help to celebrate in our victories!
I am glad however, that your boss continues to give you and your other friend positive reinforcement for a job well done even though your other "friend" continues to see it as an opportunity to be negative and resentful. I can imagine that it can take away a bit from the good spirit of the moment when this person is insistent to make this a moment of taking "pot shots". I can see how it could get old really quick and be quite annoying.
A little bit of sarcasm does go a really long way. I have heard it said that sarcasm is societies way of allowing someone to let off a bit of "steam" in a socially acceptable way. Things said in jest and in this way, many times, are truly meant. At the root of it is typically anger, jealousy, some sort of negative feeling and it gives the person that is saying such things a kind of "back door" to then say....."oh, it was just a joke. I was just kidding. Why so sensitive? Can't you take a joke?" to then cast blame upon you and deflect if they are called out on the negative behavior. I'm glad that you can see the intent behind their behavior.
If this so called "friend" spent as much time and energy focusing on themselves, working on themselves, developing themselves to provide higher performance in the work place, as they focus on coming up will mean spirited comments for you and your friend, they would be a lot better off for it. Perfect opportunity for them to think of the concept of what I call the "non compete clause". Harness that energy and point it in the direction of something good and productive. 😊❤️ Maybe that way they would receive a positive affirmation now and again also.
I'm certainly not here to ever give advice. However, you and I brainstorming, tossing around ideas together in the future and working together as a team on ways to potentially handle the situation if it arises again is always an option. 😊 And that's only if you want to even address it.
You can think of it as sort of "scripts" that you can practice independently, with words that you are comfortable using if the situation happens again. Sometimes having a loose idea, frame of reference can help with conflict resolution to pull from when needed in the "heat of the moment". Kind of like a little "tool box" to carry around and to "pull this tool or that tool out" to help. Being equipped ahead of time can add confidence as well as a sense of calm and mature approach and can help to see challenges as opportunities in disguise to get the friendship back on track. 😊❤️ Just a thought if you would ever like to do so. 😊
By the way, I'm glad you are quirky too! 😊😊😊 I think quirky is fun, quirky is unique, quirky is interesting! The world sure would be a boring place if we were all carbon copies of one another. It's fun to celebrate and embrace our differences and quirkiness as humans!
*high fives* 😊 and big big *hugs* ❤️ my sweet Fishy friend! You are not alone. *wipes tears* ❤️
@OnlyWinter
Hi again Fishy Fish! 😊❤️
I didn't forget the question that you posed. 😊 Thank you for asking and thank you for caring about me ❤️. I thought I would focus on your needs first and then create another response here for the query.😊
Interestingly enough, seems to go hand in hand with some things that you had also mentioned. You had mentioned that a weakness of yours could be being a bit naive. Clearly, me too. *joins your club* lol 😊 It also is in direct alignment with being disappointed, just as you have mentioned being as of late.
*sighs* Well, in short, I thought I had made a new friend. I was really ecstatic about it. They seemed very nice. They were funny and smart. Seemed to be a like minded person and someone that I could have great conversations with about commonalities as well as learn from them if there was something that we didn't have in common.
Over the course of 2 weeks, clearly I was disappointing them and they used that word specifically ("disappointed") . 😞 Daily it became "upping the Artie/Antie/Annie (sp?)". Requesting and requiring more of me. It wasn't a day unless a personal question was being asked yet again after I had said I didn't want to share that. It wasn't a full day if I wasn't being asked to do something else to appease them. It ended up feeling like it was never going to be enough, to simply just "be" with out "jumping through some other hoop". It felt stressful. I really am not at a point in my life where I need someone to give me another job to do, that's for sure.
I made my apologies to them and a couple of times. I let them know that I have things going on in my life that I am dealing with at the moment. In an effort to be very forthcoming, I even shared some of those things with them so that they could perhaps have a bit of empathy, compassion and potentially understand, be a bit more patient. Still an additional request was made and this became the same request over and over each and every day. Over time, this became a source of anxiety and I told them so. Even though I told them so, it didn't thwart the daily questioning.
I felt in one last moment that I would be potentially dreading interacting with them that day, not because they aren't an incredibly likable person but because they couldn't give it a rest and stop pressuring me. Well, that day came. They pushed the issue once again, told me that they felt that I should be meeting their demands and even that day or the next. I told them that I would have to "respectfully decline". I told them "no" and in no uncertain terms as I was tired of being brow beaten and badgered. I told them this was becoming uncomfortable and a source of anxiety. I felt that If I tabled the issue we could move along with our friendship with out the stress. Sounded like a great idea to me 😊.
Not so much, I guess. Clearly we do in fact live in a disposable society. Their response was to respectfully decline the friendship all together at that point. I call it "throwing out the baby with the bathwater". They no longer wished to speak to me and told me as such. I was told that we both clearly had different expectations of the friendship.
I would rather know sooner as opposed to later so that is the silver lining I guess. It still stings at the loss of a friendship when you really looked forward to interacting with them and thought so highly of them. My loss. It's fine. The feelings of loss lessen over time. I harbor no ill will. We are all different as people, have different time frames as well as expectations of others.
So, that is something I have gone through lately my sweet Fishy friend. ❤️I guess we can all feel a bit naive as well as disappointed at times. I guess it kind of comes with the territory of being human? All humans have different wants and needs out of friendships.
big *hugs* ❤️
@FineFrog15
Froggy! 🐸 I'm feeling better! It is because of you too!
It's great to have a friend, who is not being sarcastic though in subtle way.
Jelly 'friend' is not friend. Jelly means jealous or envy. Jealous of how others like me, how my boss like me.
You are a good friend! It is not your loss, it's their loss!
Thank you so much for your kind thoughts. I truly appreciate it, I am not as articulate as you but I truly appreciate your writing here in our pond.
Froggy, you don't need to appease your 'friend' or anyone, they are not babies to be pleased. If they act like mopping, let them be like that. Some people want to be pleased all the time if not they will be cruel to us. They are like bully. They are no friend, Froggy.
You are great person, don't let them make feel less.
hugs 🫂 🐸 and high five 🐸🐡
@OnlyWinter
Hi Sweet Fishy friend! 😊❤️ *glub glub*
Thought of something funny to mention as it came up yesterday in real life. Thoughts, just what's on my mind kind of thing.
Okay, just for some back ground info....people close to me in real life know that I don't lie, cheat or steal. Simple enough. As a public service announcement to the them, lol 😊 I have told them, the moment someone wants to tell you all about how honest they are, well, you better put your hand over your wallet and you better watch out. Haha!
I have told them that anyone could be capable of lieing, even me. I have told them I have told a lie or two in the past, it has happened even though long ago and truly rare and for interesting reasons however, I have told a lie or two. It has happened! I also have told them that you never know. I could lie in the future if the reason is strong enough. (reasons why I would or could would be a whole nother talk show).
On to the fun part....cheating. I don't cheat at games. I wouldn't understand the need to. Games are supposed to be simply fun. Winning fair and square is the right way to win. 😊
I was reminded yesterday that a couple of years ago, I truly "ripped someone a new one" lol 😊 by cheating myself silly to prove a point. It was the same game played again yesterday and it's what caused them to recall it. Years ago while playing this game, the other participant made comments of how I don't cheat. Fine. Now, here in lies the rub... that they went on to mock me and say that the reason that I don't is probably because I'm not smart enough to. lol 😊
Bet you can guess the outcome to the story (*inserts evil laugh*) Yup, I cheated, over and over right in front of them and they never caught me. After I mopped the floor with them by cheating and in a variety of ways, I went on to explain that indeed, I had cheated. I replayed back to them each and every instance that I had hoodwinked them. They had called into question my level of intelligence or lack there of. Nopie, nope, nope....."thems are fighting words" hahah hahahha 😊 I was like.....hmmmm....who's the big dummie now. *smirks*
As for me, I underestimate the power of no one. This was fun to share with you and so much fun to revisit that memory of cheating and actually feeling good about it. Weeeeeeeeeee weeeeeeeee! 😊❤️
Hoping for you a very Happy Monday my sweet Fishy Fish. *high fives* 😊 and *hugs* ❤️ (still interested in hearing about your strengths and weaknesses 😊 I'm listening 😊❤️)
@OnlyWinter
Hi my sweet Fishy friend! 😊❤️ So great to see you today! *glub glub* 🐡 🐸
My wonderful Fishy Fish, I feel as if you are incredibly articulate! *high fives* 😊 I appreciate you! ❤️ I am so glad that I was able to help and that you are feeling better now! ❤️ *hugs* ❤️ 🫂
I feel so much better now too and it's all because of you! Thank you for your kind words. Thank you for validating my feelings and emotions. ❤️
You know, you really did open my eyes a bit just now in how you "framed it all up for me". Kind of helps me to see things for what they truly are. You make some very valid points. Essentially at it's core, well, true, bullying. Meet my demands, do what I say or I will be cruel and take my friendship away from you all together. I know that you are right. If someone can do that, they were never really my friend to begin with. My friendship was never very important to them. Nothing but a "flash in the pan"!
I guess everything happens for a reason. Even for the other party. It's good to get those out of your life that don't belong there and open up the space for the universe to bring to you what it is that you need in your life and who it is that you need in your life. Yippie! 😊❤️ Done and done! lol 😊
I imagine everything in life is a trade off. A this or that kind of thing. I read once that in life we are all simply trading one problem for another. Every choice and decision has an impact. When we "fix" a problem we truly are just trading it off for something else, that has a potential outcome and it's kind of like....picking the lesser of the two evils. Which choice sits better with us?
For me, while I have had to feel the loss of what I thought was a friend, the trade off and benefit is that I don't have to hear the daily pressuring of doing this or that to appease them. Hearing that on the daily was exhausting. I was like, this again? 😳 It increasingly became more stressful and to the point of anxiety. I've been a lot happier and I've been sleeping better too ❤️
I happen to be a fan of Jordan Peterson. No one has to like everything that he has to say. It's fine. We can all pick and choose what sits well with us and what does not. 💡
Something he said was if you keep telling someone something and they won't listen then stop! Stop talking. Stop trying. You are getting no where. It's a waste of energy. They are simply not hearing you. He brought up the reference of you are "throwing your pearls before swine". That was my moment of finally tabling the issue, respectfully declining and just saying "no". No listening, just say no. 😊❤️
*high fives* 😊 and big *hugs* ❤️ my fine finned Fishy friend. I hope you are having an amazing Monday! 😊
@FineFrog15
Hi Froggy! 🐸 Just thought I'd share with you, what occupied my mind and made me sad days ago.
It was because I didn't listen to my friend who told me that this other 'friend' just want to use me to please them. I don't know what to call it, so full of himself or something like that. He just want people to admire him.
I initially defended him when my friend told me, I even argued with them. I regretted it. I should not have defended him.
I was naive, now I realized that he is sort of narcissistic. He imitated me in many ways and so competitive. When he complimented me, he did not do it sincerely. He doesn't really care how much works I did. The proof is when I got praised by my boss, he was being bitter.
*ribit ribit* 🐸 🐡*glub glub*

Hi Fishy Fish! 😊❤️ *ribit ribit* 🐸 🐡*glub glub*
I think you did your best to try and see all people as authentic. I know that many times in life we give others too many chances. You did your best for all parties involved as you a good person.
I send you big big *hugs* ❤️
@FineFrog15
Froggy!🐸 yup, but now they show their true color, they are not worth my time. They shouldn't call themselves 'friend'. It is frenemy. They can't accept the fact that others are better than them. No friend like that.
How are you doing today, Froggy? 🐸 *ribit ribit*
@OnlyWinter
Well said my sweet Fishy friend! 😊❤️ *glub glub* 🐡
I'm doing great today! 😊 Thank you for asking! ❤️ How are you doing?
Happy Fri-yay! 🥳 and I send *hugs* ❤️
@OnlyWinter
Hi my sweet Fishy Friend! 😊❤️ *glub glub* 🐡🐸
Thank you for reaching out. I hear you saying that you have been very busy. I hope it has all been most fun and productive! I'd love to hear more! Weeeeeeeeeeee weeeeeeeeeee! 😊
I too, have been busy. Not much new for me there on that front. I'm typically one of those....plan your work and work your plan types.
As for fun stuff, luckily the weather has been nice so I got the chance to sit out on the back deck yesterday and even for a couple of hours. It felt amazing! It felt great to simply "be". Just to sit, sunshine on my face, breathe in the fresh air, feel the wind and watch the trees sway. It was incredibly Zen I guess, lol 😊 I had no set agenda. Nothing required of me to do. Nothing required of me to think about. Simply.........just.........be. 😊
We all have busy lives and so taking a moment to just sit feels good and maybe to even help find ones "center". It was interesting to sit for a couple of hours, uninterrupted, alone with any thoughts that crossed my mind. I let any thought that came, come freely. I didn't chase the thought away for being too busy and needing/having to think of something else. I let it all flow. All flow and no frazzle.
I noticed something interesting in doing that. Over time, I had moments where I thought of nothing, nothing at all. Long spans of time and I noticed it. I wonder if I found my own personal way of meditating? Shocking! 😳
Others have mentioned meditation to me as well as the value of it. I have tried a couple of times but It never has worked for me to try and erase the thought that comes to mind and to think of nothing at all. I guess for me forcing the issue just won't work. Letting any thoughts come freely and giving them their rightful place seems to be the best? I feel as if I ended up meditating with out that even being the goal. Serendipity! 😊👍
I'm looking forward to the weather warming up even more. I love getting the chance to sit outside at night and looking up at the moon and the stars also. Those are some fantastic moments for sure! It makes me think about how insignificant ones problems may be. That this is a great big world and that everyone is sitting under the same moon and stars that I am. That we all have hopes and dreams. That we are all alike, more than we are different.
Makes me think that, that moon will go down and the sun will come up and we will all have a new day. 😊❤️
Funny stuff for you now 😊 Luckily my little quandary for one thing is over. Just sharing something right now to make you laugh. Okay.........so check this out.........
So, there are bee's called carpenter bee's or driller bee's. Oh boy. Those bee's will turn your house into swiss cheese! I have dealt with them before. Where I live now, they don't seem to be very interested in my property because of the deck stain that I have now, is no bueno for them. Not yummy, it repels them. They ain't happy though. They kind of mad at me lol 😊
Me thinks that one or many of my neighbors has some juicy offerings for them and it's why they buzz around my place. 3 weeks I tell ya, I had the daddy, the fat fluffy one, the one that drills the holes to make room for the mommy and babies staring me down out of my back door to the deck. Smh. He would not go away! Some days I just wouldn't go outside because clearly he didn't want me out there. A couple of days I went out there anyway and hoped he would get bored and go away. He did like doing a couple of dive bombs on me. (Bad bee, bad!) 😒
My conundrum was should I finally "take him out of the game" lol 😊 Would have been an easy task for me. I'm not like that though. I believe if you are going to k it, you better eat it and I am not going to eat a bee!
I'm happy to report that, that fluffy, daddy bee has gone away now. Ahhhhh, life is good! Reminded me of a principle that I sometimes go to. We all have choices. Many times we think we have only 2 choices. Choice A or choice B and that one must make a decision. Little known is the choice of choice C, which is to make no choice at all. Deciding to make no choice at all is also a decision.
Grateful today of nature giving me that gentle reminder! I went with Choice C and now the bee went away.
*high fives* 😊 and big *hugs* ❤️ my sweet Fishy Fish! Hoping for you, an amazing Tuesday! 🥳
@FineFrog15 Haha the fluffy dad is gone! 😂
*glub glub* Froggy, how are you doing today, how are things for you? I swam just then & saw a nessi 😀 looking for a friend in forum. I wrote fishy can be your friend.
I got another thought Froggy, I guess it's hard to get real friends. Some of them just fake. Fake like they use others to look good. They pretended to care about me, but just so they look good on someone. That's the funny part. I got a friend who's crushing on a guy, she never cares about me before. But then suddenly she pretended to be worried about me, asking me how I am doing, blabla in front of the whole group, to get his attention.Because this guy is an old friend of mine. I don't like him that way, but just friend. Everyone likes him as friends too but some just take advantage of others to get his attention.
I guess she is so desperate for his attention but well, it worked, she got his attention. He said, you're so nice, you care about others. She was over the moon lol. But I am being used because she never even said hi to me in the office, and still not. But I don't care lol, I feel annoyed though. 👿

Hi sweet Fishy Fish 😊❤️ *glub glub* and *ribbit* 🐡🐸
So sweet of you to make friends with even the nessi's in the pond! ❤️
Thank you for sharing your thoughts with me today! ❤️ I love hearing about what you think, how you feel, what it is that is on your mind! This certainly is a fascinating topic and one that highly resonates with me. Big time!
First, I'd like to say that I am so sorry you have been treated this way! 😒 That wasn't right. You know it and I know it. That is deplorable behavior and clearly, that so called "friend", may not be a true one after all. For someone like that, that has shown their true colors to you, well.....might be good to put them into the category of "acquaintance" instead. Sounds like to me, some ill gotten' gain behavior right there.
I imagine a positive that has come out of this (I reach for them desperately many times 😇) is that they have shown to you, their true self. The "mask slipped" and right in front of your very eyes. This truly is a personality flaw that they have and by you being able to see it, I'm thinking you might think twice before sharing too much about yourself, sharing overly about your life or investing too much into them if they try to come to you for additional advantages and want to turn some days into their very own, personal, National Friendship day that is of their own choosing to create. The attitude of, today you are my friend because I want something from you and then the next, "I'm sorry, what was your name again"? because they got what they wanted.
Unfortunately, I too have seen this many times in my journey of life. Over time I feel as if I have gotten a lot better at seeing things for what they are but there are times when any of us can be duped. I sit back and am able to see this type of behavior even if I reserve the right to not comment on it when I see it. It's happened to me before too.....kind of like the....how you like me now? kind of thing if they think I can be used for this or that. I am kind, I am patient, I give others many chances however it is good to keep information in that little memory bank, not hold a grudge but instead to proceed with caution. 💡 ❤️
As for your friend that these "charms" have worked on....well, he will be given the opportunity to make up his own mind over time. I, for one, am not one to ever gossip or triangulate. When it comes down to those thoughts, I tell myself that I am not one to judge and that I need to give others the freedom to make up their own minds and make their own decisions about who they want to interact with, with out me interjecting. I tell myself that people may behave one way with me and could behave an entirely different way with another, so I stay out of it all. However, between you, me and the lamp post.....hmmmm......probably ain't looking so good for him. He'll have many chances all on his own to judge her behavior and see if it "sits well with him".
Again, I get it. It feels horrible to be used like that. In the words of the great Kanye West *smirks* "If you can't be used, then you are just useless". That's some sad stuff right there my friend and unfortunately it's how some see the world.
For a more positive approach, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe "You can easily judge the character of a man by how he treats those that can do nothing for him". 😊❤️ 😇 Sidney Poitier said something very similar in his book The Measure of a Man. It was a great read. I enjoyed it!
*high fives* 😊 and big *hugs* ❤️ my wonderful Fishy friend for being someone of great character. Thank you for being such a good person. Your moral compass is not broken and neither is mine.❤️ Weeeeeeeeee weeeeeeeeeee! 😊 ta-dah! There is another positive, at least you are not like them! 😊
@FineFrog15
Froggy! 🐸 I like this part you said For a more positive approach, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe "You can easily judge the character of a man by how he treats those that can do nothing for him".
Thanks Froggy for letting me shared even about not so pleasant topic. This is the pond of honesty, we dont have to only talk about nice stuff. Sometimes there's really nothing nice to talk about when it comes to some people. 🤪 I gave them the benefit of the doubt but they prove to me that they don't deserve it lol.
Yup, I think it is ow to measure sincerity too. Most of the times, these so called friends are so full of themselves, I don't know what's the psychological term,.. narcissist? an unreasonably high sense of their own importance. They seek too much attention and want people to admire them.🤮 When they said nice things to you, they expect you to say how good they are for saying it. 😵 So, a praise or compliment from them is never sincerely given. It's all about them. I have experienced people like that. You know how I deal with them? I said "oh cut it off, i know I'm amazing lol"
then they got irritated and said, I showed my kindness to you bla bla... 🤣 🤣
How are you doing today, Froggy? 🐸

Hi Fishy Fish! 😊❤️ *glub glub* 🐡🐸 And Happy Fri-yay! 🥳
Thank you for sharing with me what is on your mind. I really love hearing what you think and how you feel! I love how you called this the "Pond of Honesty" 😇 I agree with you, that this should be a safe place for us to share. Sure, talking about nice things are fine as are talking about things that may be less pleasant for us to have to deal with in life.
Life isn't always potpourri and sunshine so, for us to pretend that it is, is not walking a path of authenticity. People need people and it's okay to not feel okay with how we are treated at times. There will be times when people will treat us badly, when people will be unfair and also interact with us in self serving ways. Talking about it, sharing our experiences, I find to be truly helpful! 😊❤️
Aha! Yup, the N word in the field of psychology, Narcissist. That truly is a word that is heavily laden with a great deal of connotations and my understanding is that there are a variety of different types of Narcissists. It's pretty fascinating, that's for sure!
As for me, I stay far away from labeling others or diagnosing others for anything, much less a personality disorder such as NPD. However, (and it's getting real up in here now, lol 😊) I reserve the right to see things as a narcissistic trait. Yup, you show it to me, I'll call it what it is. I will call an Ace an Ace and a Spade a Spade and I will *plant the bull shooo shooo flag* on someones behavior. I feel as if there is nothing wrong in noticing negative behavior as well as having the knowledge that this is a trait. I diagnosed no one. Simply a trait.
I don't dislike people. 😊❤️ With that, I am allowed to dislike behaviors! Someone lets it play out in front of me time and time again, well.......not someone I would want to be very close to, that's for sure. I wasn't put on this earth to be someones victim. I don't want to walk around with a victim mentality so I get away from people that are mean spirited and hateful as best that I can. I don't have to even address the behavior with them as that is unwise in my opinion. No fight, no aggression, no combative behavior from me. I got no flex, lol 😊 But I am aware. Fair but aware is my mantra, ha ha! *smirk*
I have more positive things to do with my life so I try to put distance between me and that!
I think you are highly aware my friend! 😊 I commend you for being aware of your environment, cognizant of the behaviors of others and how some of them could be highly negative as well as damaging. 😊❤️ I be noping out of stuff fast too my friend! Weeeeeeeeeee weeeeeeeee! 😊 I be like.....nopie, nope, nope and more nope!
I like your approach to what you see as the negative behavior of someone in your life. There are times when others that have narcissistic traits seek what is called fuel or a source of supply from us as people. As you so well said, they will give you a compliment or praise you, not to simply give it and give it freely, but instead do it with the expectation of getting that source of supply in return (they have to feed the beast) 🧌. I agree. Some may behave this way simply to illicit a response from you.
It's fascinating to hear of their response after they have given you a compliment and with your refusal to engage in the way that they are truly seeking. I like how you say something fun, playful and let it drop. Then you get to watch them fall apart with anger, go ape sheet (lol 😊) on you. Oh my, 😳 that's quite the "tell" is it not? Gee, not so very friendly after all? When we give "gifts" to anyone (and those include compliments) we should give them freely, to be kind and uplift others with out ever expecting anything in return. I'm sorry that this person is unable to do that in their point in the journey of their life.
Thank you for sharing with me today my sweet Fishy Fish! ❤️ I really enjoy conversations with you. So many times you give me things to think about, things to consider, points to ponder, get me into cerebral mode and doing some "mental gymnastics" 😊. I love our Pond! Weeeeeeeee weeeeeeeeeee! 😊 I am so very grateful for you and so very grateful for our friendship! ❤️❤️❤️
Also, thank you for asking me. ❤️ I'm doing great today my friend! 😊 I'm hoping that you are having a great day as well! 😊
*high fives* 😊 and big *hugs* ❤️
@FineFrog15
Froggy!! 🐸🐡 How are you doing? I haven't been in 7cups for days!
You nailed it my friend, the narcissists use as fuel to feed them! But we should not give in to their needs. You will learn about their true color when they don't get what they want. Your term is exactly what they do, supply. Never ever becomes fuel to narcissist. I too noticed that 'friend' who is not happy when I am getting praised by others! For my wellbeing, I'm better off not dealing with those narcissists.
How's life, Froggy? 🐸🐡 *hugs ribit ribit 🫂 glub glub*❤
@OnlyWinter
Hi my wonderful Fishy Fish friend! 😊❤️
*glub glub* 🐡🐸 and *Ribbit* 🐸
I'm so happy to see you today! You have been missed! ❤️ Sounds as if you have had a very busy week! I hope that it has been fun, I hope that it has been productive and I hope that life as well as people have been kind to you! 😊❤️ My sweet Fishy Fish deserves nothing but the best! 😇
As for me, I'm doing great! 😊 Thank you for asking me! ❤️ I've just been busy as usual. Always a new day with unique oppurtinites as well as, sprinkled with the constants of life to take care of.
The latest, greatest, humorous thing to report on my end that was a thought.....sweat pants. Or as I like to call them...."sweaty pants", lol 😊. So here's the thing. For sweat pants I got my A teams and B teams.
My A teams are my super cute Adidas that I'll run out in public wearing. Yes, still sweat pants and a hoodie however, cute ones. I'm so incredibly nerdy that I have a little A team collection. Oh, how I love the super cute Adidas. Yes, they are expensive however, I add to my little collection when I find a good sale, as well as a coupon code on them once in awhile and those things last forever. I try to be pragmatic and parsimonious about things and I still have the very first Adidas hoodie and sweat pant set that I bought years ago. Looks just as good as the day I bought them. Thank you Adidas, I appreciate you! ❤️ Gratitude moment. 😊
Hmmmmm....moving on to the B teams 😳. Well, you know, the B teams ain't lookin' so grand, lol 😊. These are just comfy, old sweat pants that I wear around the house. You couldn't pay me enough to wear these things out in public. I work around the house in them, clean in them, etc. If you are someone that I know well enough, you will gain admittance to my home and see me in all of my glory *smirk*, rocking a pair of these creepy sweaty pants.
It has been mentioned that it may be the time to retire some of them. They are just that bad! Meh? As for me, I like them and I actually think it's kind of funny! I'm willing to meet in the middle on this. I may have to ahem....retire a few of them and so be it. I will buy some new ones to replace. But Fishy Fish, I got a plan! 😜
The master plan is to meet the demands of others but I'm keeping the pair that is the worst of the worst. Oh, this one has 3, if not more holes, blow outs and is the worst offender in the lot. It's quite tragic! And it's pretty darn funny! As part of my negotiation strategy, I have agreed to buy new ones while retaining this one specific pair.
Oh, it is sooooooo on! They have all been warned that the name of my game is to sew up the holes in this one pair. I will continue on in all perpetuity until that rotten pair of sweat pants has been fully recreated using nothing but thread to patch up the holes. Long live the sweaty pants! Hurrah! 😊 My intentions are to use vibrant colors of thread to do so. Like really, how funny is this? It be like "here comes ole' patches with them rotten pants".
Anyway, just something to hopefully give you a good laugh today! I truly have humored myself with this silly plan. Sometimes it's the little things in life that can bring us so much joy and make us laugh the very most. My peeps in real life are looking forward to this as well. 😊❤️😊
big *hugs* ❤️ Fishy Fish 🫂 🐡🐸
“The Pond” feels like such a peaceful name for a support space. Sometimes just having a quiet place to slow down and breathe can really help when life feels overwhelming.
I’ve always liked how ponds symbolize calm and balance. Even something simple like watching water movement from a pond fountain can feel surprisingly relaxing and grounding.
I was actually reading about pond fountain setups recently and found this interesting collection:

Something about flowing water has always felt calming to me. Hope everyone here is finding small moments of peace in their day, even if things feel difficult right now.
