Want people's opinions on stuff

Okay I'm probably gonna sound stupid here, but I have no idea where to put it

So, around a year or twoish ago, I was in a pretty bad state, and in a bad household at the time, so i used to make up all these "personalities" give them names, pronouns, backgrounds, make art for them, and everything . Sometimes online, I'd act like those personalities as sort of like,,, a coping mechanism? I'm not gonna trauma dump here , but I was in a pretty messed up state, and when I got out of that household, I was better, but then I slowly started slipping into a depressive episode(?) And started getting paranoid, and a bunch of other stuff..... slowly slipping into using those "multiple personality" stuff as a coping mechanism , imnnot claiming ti have anything, or self diagnosing, but I feel like every time I meet someone, I want to introduce them as the other personalities that i made for myself

It's kind of confusing to put it to words, but I can explain more if I need to, and I just wanted to see if anyone else did/felt the same way because I don't want to be the only one who did this in my life 😭😭😭

@KatoDied Hi KatoDied!

It sounds like you went through a tough time and developed a unique coping mechanism that worked for you at the time. It's understandable to feel confused and unsure about how to navigate these feelings and experiences. It's also great that you're reaching out for opinions and perspectives from others who may have had similar experiences.

Have you thought about what draws you to these "personalities" and why you feel the need to introduce them to others? It could be helpful to explore these thoughts and feelings more deeply to gain a better understanding of what is going on. Like, for example, what do you think these personalities represent for you?

We're here to listen if you ever need to talk more about this!

They make me feel like a different person, and each personality, I can express myself in ways that the real "me" could never do, or say to others . It's like uhhh, for one of them, I have a certain typing style I use, that I, myself would never use at all but then, there another one that's uh

Well, basically, one of them liked dark stuff, has a certain typing style, acts a different way, and people will k ow that it's them,

And a completely different personality, they're happy, bubbly, they use female pronouns, name, and other stuff in which people who know me know, would know I would never use female aligned stuff . And there's maybe, one or two of them that act like how I used to act when I was a kid, all cringe and stuff like that

@KatoDied Thank you for sharing more about your experiences, Kato. It sounds like these personalities allow you to express different aspects of yourself that you might not feel comfortable expressing otherwise. That can be a really valuable way to explore different parts of yourself and to cope with difficult emotions.

It's interesting that some of these personalities seem to embody aspects of your past self or parts of yourself that you feel disconnected from now. Have you considered exploring these aspects of yourself further, like, for example, creating stories or journaling?

@Snor1ax Sometimes they sort of have a mind of their own, and I accidently say something to someone I didn't want to say . And i have made some stories, I just lost motivation in them early on and stopped doing it

@KatoDied Sorry for the confusion. What I meant was that have you thought about why you feel disconnected from these aspects of yourself and whether exploring them further might be good for you?

It's possible that by exploring these parts of yourself, you may be able to gain a deeper understanding of who you really are. It could also be helpful to consider if these personalities still serve a positive purpose for you or if they may be stopping your from fully embracing your true self. What are your thoughts on this?
