Ways to Deal with Intense Emotions

Intense emotions can take a lot to overcome.

For example it takes a year to go through all the seasons of grief before one can begin to get over what happened.

So if say a person died, then one is abused, then they lose their housing, then they are in chronic poverty, then three more people die, then pets pass away, and a relationship ends all in a few years then this isn't easy to manage.

So this build up needs release - whether through hysterics or screaming 'it's not fair' in the mirror or something.

And if it's too intense then going to a support group or professional where it's safe to process these emotions is key.

Anger can be expressed by punching or kicking pillows, smashing the bed with a tennis racket, or yelling in the car.

Anger is okay. On the journey of growth one will have a lot of rage and notice the negativity first. And this needs to be let out, otherwise it lodges in the body and becomes resentment, which gets us in trouble.

Remember to be patience with yourself and take the steps needed. Don't assume all is known, blocking out all new ideas. And don't take things personally. Do your best and be impeccable with your word.

You can do it!

@Dallady Thank you! This helps a lot especially since my three guinea pigs died all in the span of a few days. I definitely scream into my pillow and hit my bed with tennis rackets if I had one. 😅 These are great tips you shared and I will surely share them with my friends!
