True enough. I understand most of my triggers, some were obvious, some I had to figure out slowly..

I associate it with the past, this is why certain words, scenes affect me.

The ones in my nightmares are trickier. Much more challenging to decipher bits and bobs..

We get triggered because we are still carrying a fear.

For example, I have a fear of abandonment certain words, people, or behaviors trigger me because those old wounds never fully healed when things originally happened. Somewhere inside, that fear is still there
