I didn't really get to pick out my username when I first joined. But after being back here since late March, so I've gotten pretty used to be called Oak hehe.
I looked up what was the meaning behind Oak, since I'm unfamiliar with tree knowledge. But I read that it symbolizes several things, including strength and wisdom. I'm not even sure if I can relate to its meaning. But I guess I can use its meaning as a reminder that I still some strength leftover in me.
As for compassionate, I'm actually still working on that. But it's starting to grow on me as I'm currently in recovery and now learning how to be more self-compassionate after many years of not taking care of myself both mentally and physically. I never thought that this would be the year that I'm finally seeking help and reaching out for support.
Anyway, I guess my username stands for something that I'm looking forward to being within myself. 💖

Some of the biggest, most beautiful trees that grow around where I live are Ponderosa pines. Their bark looks like puzzle pieces and they have long, feathery needles. They don't smell like regular pine trees - baking in the summer sun they smell almost spicy.
