loved one going through cancer

hi everyone,

i’m not sure if i missed it, but is there a group for people who have loved ones going through cancer? my boyfriend is starting treatment in two weeks, i feel very scared and stressed and i don’t know how to be here for him properly.

I am sorry you are going through this.

My dad also is going through treatment.

I know how it feels.

You feel useless.

Like you cannot help.

You'd swap places with them in a heartbeat.

All you can do is be there with him, every step of the way.

Your presence matters.

Sitting with him, keeping his mind on other things, listening to him, showing up.

It's hard , I know how hard, but he's lucky to have you.

I will pray for him everyday for a full recovery, I understand many people don't believe, but I am thinking of you both!

thank you, amanda. it is hard, and i do wish i could do so much more. thank you for your kind words and wishes. i will keep your father in my thoughts as well and wish for a speedy recovery for them both 💜

II may not have personally gone through a loved one’s cancer journey, but I can feel the weight of your fear and stress through your words. It’s completely natural to feel scared . it shows how deeply you care about him. The best way to support him is often through the little things: listening when he wants to talk, sitting quietly when he doesn’t, reminding him he’s not alone, and taking care of yourself too. Sometimes love, presence, and patience become the strongest medicine. You’re already doing more than you think, just by being there for him...
