my boyfriend asks for alone time and it makes me feel very lonely

i love him very much and i always give him his space, but i love quality time and talking to him, i feel very lonely and unwanted tho, id never admit this tho bc i don't want to make it about me and i dont want to make him feel guilty for wanting space.

Hello @courteousCucumber9970.

Your feelings are valid and I respect them..

Go easy CCucumber it's likely your boyfriend is a introvert or he needs time to think because he has worries and concerns on his mind...

Many men retreat to their  "cave" to think out things and discover solutions... it could be anything.. I hope you stay positive and find a balance you can be satisfied with..

Good luck🌟

im a introvert too and i dont mind giving him alone time, i think what bothers me most is how broad he is about the time, because a few days of being alone can be 3 days to a week, which i dont mind giving either, i just dont like the constant anxiety of never knowing when ill get him.

@courteousCucumber9970 it's quite normal that they just have that tunnel vision sometimes but it's fine just stay positive and keep your heart safe

I know you miss him and he probably misses you too but space apart is a good thing. One person can't just be the source of your happiness, that's too much pressure.

Use this time to develop your own interests, figure out what else makes you happy. Try new things and the time apart will fly by and then you can share what you've been upto.

Or sometimes you can say, I've been thinking of our next date, would you like to try something different, how about..?

Trust me , he won't feel guilty . He knows how you feel as well it's a human instinct but if he didn't pay attention to this you must express yourself once and if still it continuous , i am sorry to say the relationship needs a short break

nono we're not on a break, we are still together but he just doesnt want to talk to anyone for a few days is what he said, but now that you mention it im scared that he did mean a break and i misunderstood it.

Don't worry! What I meant was . It’s important to let your partner know how you feel. If hurtful behaviour keeps happening, it can affect you emotionally, so you need to set clear boundaries about what you are not okay with. If things feel overwhelming, taking a short break can help both of you reflect and think things through more calmly. Relation can be more stronger after as well but you know it better , I wish you all the best and the right things

Hey! I had similar struggles with my boyfriend too and honestly taking space apart is so healthy as a couple. When you spend way too much time together it warrants a looooot of nitpicking and arguing, believe me I know 😅😅, try finding some hobbies/things to do to keep yourself occupied whenever he needs space, it’s what I’ve done and it’s been working wonders and now I occasionally ask for alone time too
