why It's so hard to CHANGE others MIND❓

how we stick to beliefs...even when they dont help anymore....maybe itss fear....maybe pride or just habitss....we get comfortable in our own stories, evven when better ones are there....facts dont always wins....feelinggs do.....🙏😖
what do you think....is changing your mind hard for you?
@DivineKarmainfinity changing your mind can be hard because of : pride.
Life experiences.
Fear of change.
Fear of growth.
Habit.
It's hard to change your mind until you walk in someone else's shoes and learn that rather than life being black and white, it's mostly grey 🥰
Yes, very. I've feel like a useless, dysfunctional, and therefore unattractive man, and being on the spectrum, which I finally worked out just a couple of years ago, I feel powerless to change anything.
@pinkfloydFan6226
You’re not broken.... you’re built differently and that’s not a flaw. You matter, even on the days it feels hardest to believe.....start slow have some consistent efforts...things will change....i wish all the best for you 😇🙏
@pinkfloydFan6226 im sorry that youve been made to feel this way, you are worth more than what you think and more than how others make you feel 😊🥰
@Amanda84 Thanks. But it's a war trying to convince myself of that lol
@pinkfloydFan6226 you might not win each battle but don't give up in that war 🥰
@Amanda84 Well, it feels neverending.
@pinkfloydFan6226 switch it up, you will only ever be you, embrace that, and don't let anyone or yourself tell you it's not enough 🥰
@Amanda84 Well, it doesn't seem like enough.
@pinkfloydFan6226 but enough according to who? Whose doing the quantifying?
@Amanda84 I'm terrible at adulting, and life in general, because I struggle to focus on boring, mundane tasks, e.g. cleaning, washing and ironing clothes, etc and I'm only good at a small handful of things.
@pinkfloydFan6226 you are not alone with hating the chores 😁
@Amanda84 So how do you manage?
@pinkfloydFan6226 I just try to get them done as quick as possible, not overthink it, not let it build to the point of becoming overwhelming and im known to sing as I go, and a mop or two and some dancing has been involved 😁
Cognitive rigidity can get in the way of changing one's mind. Cognitive flexibility exercises and stress relief/ relaxation techniques (so that it feels safe within oneself to consider new ideas, so they register less as threats) can be helpful for anyone at any age.
@Zeraphim cognitive rigidity is an interesting concept that I wouldn't have previously considered, thank you, that's what I love about these forums, so many varied experiences and angles of looking at things, multiple helpful perspectives 🥰
@DivineKarmainfinity
You're absolutely right! Feelings always win. It doesn't matter what one does for their loved one, no matter how much good they do, at the end of the day, if the other person does not feel the way you do, you are the one going to be grieving. And there is absolutely nothing anyone can do about it!
