Do y'all dislike your parents?
Hi, you guys can call me Jules, doubt you would actually want to talk to me tho. I'm a teen from Canada, and I came here to find therapy cause my parents won't get me one.
Here we go. I got a 100% for a math test. That's really good, right?! Well my mother said "okay, but tests aren't worth much. Actually try raising your hand in class." She didn't even say congrats or good job. I thought parents are supposed to be there for you. Not put you down. This isn't the first time she's done something hurtful.
Do you guys want to hear about the other time?

@Puppydoglove yes people are so very kind here 💗 1-1 chats I get really nervous, because this one guy was being a bully🙁 I don't feel safe doing them after that. I have never used a AI bot. And the t.v. My psychiatrist said it's probably the mixture of the sound and movements which confuses my brain and triggers flashbacks of the past🙁 but it's ok I didn't know tv exsisted till about 5 years ago, so I don't think I'm missing out to much. Although my carers show me funny clips on their phones to slowly get me used to it, and I've been improving with that😁 so maybe oneday💗💗💗

Hi, I kinda ge the bully thing, I did a 1-1 chat, they weren't a bully but I feel like they didn't really care either. I'm not going to push you more abt the TV thing cause If I were asked about something traumatic from my past I would probably feel super, scared, uncomfortable, panicky, anxious. I'm just super honored that you've told me this much. I just wanna know how you've only found out that TVs existed 5 years ago?

@Puppydoglove I don't mind talking about it💗 but first trigger warning, slavery...... So I was born into a Christian cult, who were actually Satanists not Christian. Children born into the cult were either sold or kept as slaves. Without going into to much details I was kept locked away, I didn't realise what technology was, never heard music, didn't know what was outside, until law enforcement stepped in when I was 18, I'm 24 years old now, and I'm safe and happy 💗 but it's like I moved to a different world, I've had to learn soo much theese past few years. 💗

Wow, i'm kind of speechless. That's so CRUEL. I can't believe that they kept you as a slave. We live in the 21st century and this still happens. It's horrifying thinking that cults like that still exist. Have you went to the police about thins. Because that's slavery, child endangerment, child labor, so many more crimes. They could get locked up for life. I hope you have. Devils, satans minions, don't deserve to be free.
Even though you grew up in those horrible living conditions, if I might add, you have grown up to be an amazing person.

@Puppydoglove well it was law enforcement who stepped in and rescued me and some of the other slaves too. Videos were leaked on the internet of things that were going on there. It was actually other countries that stepped in and made sure they would help save us. I'm in a different country now and under government protection, I'm in one of the countries that stepped in to help🙂💗 this cult was a big cult I was kept in one of the smaller places they own, they are a rich powerful cult, it goes all the way up to the government there🙁 so the cult is still very much going 😥 and other than spreading the word here, there's nothing I can do to help stop it. I've actually talked to several people here at cups who were in similar cults and situations😕 is a world wide problem, just hidden away from the public eye🙁

Hi. Being a parent is quite a complex thing. I think it is about a balance between being likeable and caring about starting their adult life being not too "sudden shock" for the kids.
Congratulations! 😊 I think you did a great job with the test.

The never enough feeling kicks in with lot of self doubt in your capabilities. Please recognise this and don't expect much in return rather praise yourself and create a safe space for yourself within you to always get back to yourself and love yourself not define it by external opinions. ❤️

The truth which I learned the hard way is many people are parents when they’re not ready to be parents.
Being a parent comes with certain set of challenges, responsibilities, etc for not only mothers but also fathers too.
But many parents ignore parenthood and instead smoke or get drunk and end up abusing or beating their own kids. This could be a result of them not getting any love or support or anything like that from their own parents or any of their own family members when they were kids themselves.
However it’s still wrong to take the abuse you got as a kid out on your own kids who didn’t even exist when you were younger and therefore had nothing to do with you being abused by your parents.
I was/still am abused by my own parents. Not my dad. But my mom always and my stepdad to a lesser level.
My mom is a manipulative, narcissistic, toxic, self centered, abusive person, who became a parent before she was ready to be one and while she had mental health problems that to this day are still untreated and not even acknowledged by her bc she refuses to acknowledge or get help for any of them.
So bc of her refusal to do anything about it, we all are getting undeserved stress, frustration, difficulties, anxiety, complications, suffering, torture, etc. And I’m being affected by all this the most bc I’m the youngest in this so called family.
Yes parents should (always) be there for you. But some parents aren’t. That’s the cold hard truth as difficult as it is to accept or admit it.

Wow, you are going through a lot more than I am.
All I'm going through is that my parents, I feel like they don't care about me. They don't love me. If they actually do love me they get a -10/10 for showing it. I'm only a child, teen, but when I have children I will me the mother I never had.
